March 10, 20206 yr Popular Post Good luck Gene, hope things continue to go well. I will point out, moving at your age (and my age) isn't for the faint of heart. I went through that drivers license last year, like I said then anyone who thinks the terrorists haven't won needs to do that. What a pain; but I guess you only do it once, after that you're "enrolled". Edited March 10, 20206 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
March 10, 20206 yr Popular Post We've spent the last 4 weeks packing and storing the boxes to be moved. Have an 8X10 trailer chock full of doodads for a yard sale. All that's left in the house is furniture and, some clothing and things we absolutely need. Haven't started on the shop. Wife wants me to sell a bunch of tools. Not happening! Already sold all my lumber except for the mesquite, walnut and curly maple. That's a big enough sacrifice. Once the deal is final, we'll have thirty days to clear out. Might take me that long to load my tools! If you are interested, here's what we're leaving. https://paxmanphotography.smugmug.com/Real-Estate/Real-Estate-2020/8933-Miller/i-rjM3DBN Edited March 10, 20206 yr by Gene Howe

The place we'd like to move to, by the listing pictures, anyway, has nary one tree. But it's almost surrounded by what looks like a pine forest.

March 10, 20206 yr I would, but there's still this detail of LOML not wanting to move away from the grandkids.

March 10, 20206 yr Thought about moving to Arizona many years ago when they were selling lots on the lake at Lake Havasu City. Long before they moved the London bridge there. Was ready to purchase the land, but the contract required we start building within one year . If that didn't happen, the land would have gone back to the seller with no refund. Decided not to purchase with that stipulation.

March 10, 20206 yr Popular Post 2 hours ago, John Morris said: How Smiths ya got? Two. One is outfitted with the Jointech saw train system, fence system is similar to the Incra TS LS, but, the saw train's table can extend up to 36" to the right of the blade and has a router table in it that uses the same fence system. Mine has the PC 7518 vs hung in a Jessem lift. Due to the weight and size of the saw train and acessories, it's never disassembled and remains as strictly a rip saw, although the cross cut functions are available. But, DEFINITELY not any table tilt stuff! The 2nd one is a shorty and it does the all the cross cutting, dadoes, DP and SPT functions. My set up sorta defeats the space saving attributes and, in the case of the Saw Train equipped one, I've pretty much lost the ease of mobility. The STPs can still be used but, it's a hassle. So, when Bill Mayo offered me the re built Shorty for $450, I jumped on it.

March 11, 20206 yr ...Just reread the DL renewal letter. I can renew without having to get the "Real ID" endorsement. If the guberment wants me at one of their "Real ID" places they can issue me a pass. Haven't had to go to any of those places for almost 62 years, don't see needing to go to one any time soon. March 11, 20206 yr The day will come when you have to walk into a federal building for something, then you will wish you had that infernal license.

How many acres at the horse farm? The listing states it's just one acre. But, in the satellite picture, it looks bigger. One would be just fine, though. After caring for 26 acres for the last 24 years. A little one acre piece would be a relief. Edited March 11, 20206 yr by Gene Howe

If they want me there they can meet me at the door. Took a little over an hour to fill out form, get mugshot taken, get vision test, pay the fee, and get a paper copy to use while waiting for the state to mail the license. My "Mugshot"! So Cousin Itt's good for another eight years.
