On the SS forum I read that, of course that was after the epic struggle to put the first bag on. If I remember right (probably I don’t), it wasn’t as difficult as they made it to be, but the blue tape idea should make it easy. I thank you for the tip :)

Feels like it @Woodbutcherbynight it’s like 100% humidity here 24/7 plus 100 degrees equals free garage sauna.

Kuwait was hot as hell when I passed through into bigger and better things. My brother “deployed” there with the Air Force for 9months. I’d rather go back to Iraq during the surge then be in Kuwait for a summer 120 no thank you.

What I gotta do is get the part numbers for the 4 legs, and CALL SS. I understand they don’t react to e-mails in a timely fashion. I don’t want to carve up the original legs, and then not be able to sell it later. Of course with this being a WOODWORKING forum, maybe I should be designing, and building some WOODEN means of support that will accommodate me using a chair. A stage/platform will need a storage place. A lowered scroll saw only costs me the storage of 4 metal legs. I can tuck them up into the rafters. Ahh another project :) .

Yeah, but it doesn't count if you don't provide video for us.  :throbbinghead:

Took a peak at it, I’m not saying wooden replacements for the legs are impossible, but hacking the bottom 12 inches off the metal ones would be much easier. Looked up the part number, sent an e-mail to ShopSmith. We’ll see if I get a response. Thursday, coming up, the Missus and me are going down to Mystic CT, with another couple for a 5 day vacation. We’ve never been, we both love seaside towns, and I hear good things about their aquarium. Been over a year since we had any kind of a real vacation, so looking forwards to this very much.

Have fun Artie be sure to take some pictures. We wont talk about you too much while you are gone.:WhoMe:

The other couple wants to go to one of the casinos, one night. The Missus and me, not so much. I’m more leaning to the submarine museum in Groton. I think it’s a 1/2 - 3/4 hour ride from where we are staying. Will be bringing the iPad, so I oughta be in some kind of communication.

John, I looked up what a spring pole lathe is. I know i’m not coordinated enough, or in fit enough shape to successfully use one of those. I do not ask this question to be funny, will you also be making one of the pedal powered scroll saws? In have seen plans for one, and it looked fun to make. Not sure how much cutting I could pedal for. Long as you don’t go off the grid so far that you’re communicating with us, using smoke signals, and granite tablets, I’ll support you.
