Hi all, new to this site and looking forward to being a part of (and sharing) new adventures. I usually hang out on the Routerforums.com site, so am interested to see what you all have been up to over here!

I am a fledgling woodworker, learning his way around as best as possible, and I was invited to join by Gene Howe (thank you). Shout out to Stick486 who I see lurks here also!

I'm a Kiwi, been living in Australia for what is now our 7th year. I have a limited selection of tools (sadly no table saw as yet), but I'm learning and acquiring as needed and finances allow.

I've attached a pic of what I consider to be my best accomplishment so far, but there are plenty of projects in the works (according to my wife).....

Nice table Steve.

Welcome to your new woodworking "home" Steve. Glad you took Gene up on his offer. We're all new at something so you're at the right place to learn, share, and have a little fun along the journey. So, jump in and enjoy the ride.

Kudos on the table...excellent piece; top caliber. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks Stick. I know you've seen the table before, and contributed to ideas when I asked about various aspects.

I still consider myself a beginner as I feel I'm still learning basic stuff.

I do love that table though. I'm proud of how it turned out, especially since I didn't have a plan to work off and had to work it out for myself.

I forgot to ask...

what about the donuts and pie for everybuddy???

no worries about me...

I'll take a strudel...

Welcome aboard Steve.  That is a beautiful table.  What type of wood did you use for it and what did you use for a finish.

And blueberry pie for me please since it is already pi day down under (I think).

Hi, Steve and, a raucous welcome. Glad you made it. That's a very nice table, BTW.

Click your way around the site and, explore all the goodies John Morris, our founder, has installed.

I really am not much for a plan.  Most of them go sideways 10 seconds after they get started so what's the point?  I work off the principle of just make it up as I go along.  Now if you want people to THINK you planned it that way use above method.  Then make a drawing of it and show your project, with the plans.  This way you can say it went according to plan.:JawDrop:

Plans are helpful in knowing where to pound in the 8 penny nails. :P
