February 23, 20197 yr Popular Post Today the New England chapter of The Patriot Woodworking Forum had their annual winter banquet. I visited Al, we got his new spindle sander unpacked and on one of his workbenches. His daughter took some pictures, which I’m sure Al will post. I told him I didn’t care how he captioned it LOL. We went to the Hungry Traveler in Salisbury, Ma for lunch, Al treated. I cheated, well I had my weekly cheat meal. I made him agree that the next TPW New England chapter meeting is on me. We will announce the dates so anyone who wants to visit and say hi, can . It was a really nice visit. We talked about WW’ing, family, health, and any other subject that came up. I had a good time, and a good day. I was disappointed that the TPW New England Chapter tee shirts weren’t here in time for the banquet (Sometimes I just crack myself up LOLOLOL). On a serious note, the only other member in New England, on the map, hasn’t posted since 2016 (I believe). I hope it’s because he has become busy, and not for any other reasons. Also not everyone here is on the map, if you are from New England, and you’re inclined to, say hi. Artie
February 24, 20197 yr Popular Post Sounds like y'all had a great day Artie, and again, good on you for going up and helping a fellow TPW WW out!
February 24, 20197 yr Popular Post Good to know there is a East Coast branch of TPW. That was great, that you and Al got together and traded stories and helped set up the sander. Herb
February 24, 20197 yr Popular Post Had I know about the outing, I would have flown out in the TPW corporate Gulfstream. Maybe next year.

I’m not sure Al got the better of the deal, all we really did was pick it up, and put it on his workbench, and then unbox it. We took a ride to the ocean ( couple of miles), and then went to lunch. The sander looks to be pretty much all together, the stand that comes with it needs to be assembled, but I’m not sure Al is gonna use their stand. It looked really nice.

We both agreed that this is a pretty good place, with a bunch of pretty good people, here.

Now I know why the tee shirts weren’t here LOLOL. It would be REAL nice to actually get to shake the hands of the people here. I have two favorite forums, and this IS one of them. The other is Tom’s treasures, a metal detecting forum. Both are unique in how well they are run,and managed, and how well the members interact with little to no ego issues. I do believe the only issue the NE chapter voted on, was to increase the travel allowance on TPW’s corporate jet.
February 24, 20197 yr Popular Post Great write up Artie to capture what sounds like a fun and rewarding day for the both of you. Kudos for going up to help Al with the OSS. I assume you wiped the drool off before you left? Thanks so much for sharing the day with us. Once Ron gets the wheels back on the Company jet, maybe we all can be there for the next chapter meeting.

I wish it was possible to meet more of the crew here. Al’s pretty easy to talk to, I had to keep reminding myself to let him get a word in, edgewise LOL.

February 24, 20197 yr Popular Post Thanks for coming Artie . It was a great day. The New England Chapter of TPW meeting was a great success. Artie is such a likeable guy that I think Bonnie our waitress really became attached to him. She told Artie to ask her next time we visit the restaurant. Artie may have thought he was monopolizing the conversation. That's funny, I thought I was! Guess we both had a lot to talk about. Artie, I posted a photo in the Free For All topic. Bad decision on my part. Dave asked that it be moved here. I believe John has already made the move. Our beaches are taking on a different look because of the erosion problems. Man made dunes piled where dunes never existed. Sad

Nope not a bad decision on your part at all...main thing you got it posted...Logistics to move here was to better preserve it plus I think the pictures in Free for All threads expire/delete after a few months. Besides it has official meeting minutes and documentation from The Patriot Woodworker-New England Chapter. Important in case we ever get audited.
