November 2, 20187 yr Popular Post Can you believe that we’re into November already? The good news is that in 5 days we can retake our televisions from the politicians. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m on the local election board so this is a very busy season for me. This afternoon is poll worker training and Monday is traveling board to vote the shut ins and Tuesday is the general election. I’ve been building a unit for a customer and today was stain day. Hopefully, I can shoot the first coat of Endurovar Sunday afternoon. It is scheduled to be picked up on the 14th. I think I may make it. The pix are with stain only. so tell me, what’s on Your Weekend Agenda?
November 2, 20187 yr Popular Post Trying to get my little oak end table finished. Using oil based varnish and it's taking quite a while with the cooler temps.....need to get it done to move on to my wife's file cabinet (next up). I just want to mention: we vote absentee, as soon as we can. I think the law should be that once you've voted they can't broadcast those ads to your TV anymore.
November 2, 20187 yr i hate staining. leaving shortly to go to a pistol match tomorrow. all day affair. hope i do well. will also give away the 3 bowls i made at the end of the match (added to the random draw prize table, everyone has an equal chance at winning a prize). next week, vote, and then go get plywood for a storage cabinet with drawers (12) for my office. top will be wood looking tile. pre-finished maple is planned.

November 3, 20187 yr Mowing is likely out with water standing in places. Follow behind the dog and back-fill her mole tunnel exploration dig projects. A few errands to run...might get some time in working on some tools. Probably watch some college football games on the radio. Anything else TBD on an as needed basis.
November 3, 20187 yr Popular Post Making normal stock this weekend for our year end show in a few weeks. Grilling at the range tomorrow for Burgers and Bullets and Sunday afternoon shooting in a USPSA pistol match. Im also working on making some AR-15, 30 round magazine speed loaders. I just about have my prototype finished.
November 3, 20187 yr Popular Post Metal work is done, thank God! Got most of the anticipated equipment needs for a power carving station, now. Still need to build it though. Amazon and Ace stock should be on the rise after my buying spree. Phyl will have her surgery Monday. I need to install a handicapped accessible toilet seat, today. And, shop time will be limited to non-existent for the duration of her recovery. Doc says a month. Knowing her, it'll be more like two weeks. She's good at following exercise schedules but, she's so impatient. And, she'll soon tire of my lack of cooking abilities.
November 3, 20187 yr Popular Post here's pulling for Phyl, Gene... might want to brush up on the cooking thread...

November 3, 20187 yr Wishing Phyl a speedy recovery. And hopefully no episodes of food poisoning! Stick has some interesting recipes. Remember, you can substitute feral house cats for bobcat or cougar if the big cats are rare in your area! John BTW, I've been to two different hospitals, one of them twice, in the last two days. As if the cancer wasn't enough, now the kid has torn the tendon attaching the biceps to the right elbow! It seems that chemo can weaken muscles and tendons. No strenuous use of the arm for four weeks! I'll be glad when this year is over.
November 3, 20187 yr Thanks for the good thoughts, John. A basket load of good ones from here for your son. And, another bunch for you and the family. I know these are rough times for you all.
November 4, 20187 yr Popular Post Gene, good luck to the Missus! On the carving station, remember we like pictures! Of both your set-up, and end results.
November 4, 20187 yr Thanks, Cal. Phyl's procedure tomorrow won't be too bad. Recovery will be a bear, though. Your prayers are certainly appreciated. Double down on those for John, though.
