October 28, 20187 yr Author Thank you for the info. This does make a lot of sense. What manufacturer would put three different wheels on a machine. Now I won't worry about destroying any historical significance associated with this saw. I will restore it and call it the "Frankinsaw". I will even make some nice looking decals for it. It is still a neat piece that will look nice in the shop.I restored an antique gun that has the same background.
October 28, 20187 yr Grey Matter Flash You may also have a bandsaw that was made from a kit! There used to be companies that supplied kits for making woodworking machines. With most of the bandsaw kits you used their castings along with pipe to make the frame. Then you used whatever wheels you could find. You cut your pipe to accommodate the wheel size. I don't see any tire grooves in the wheels, so I'm thinking they were originally flat belt pulleys.
October 28, 20187 yr I have a question about this wheel. Is the belt grove narrow, and rounded at the bottom? If so I'm sure I've seen it!...…………………………. On an old time treadle sewing machine.
October 30, 20187 yr Ken, I hope I didn't offend you, if so I didn't intend to. After seeing your other projects, I'm sure that when you're done with this Bandsaw it will be a work of art. You have the makings of what will become a really cool Resto-Modded machine. Please keep us posted as to your progress.

The wheel on the bandsaw looks like it is grooved for a V belt.
October 31, 20187 yr I tend to rub some people the wrong way with the way I say things. I'm 60 years old, and dynamite would have a hard time changing me now. When someone tells me to go to hell, I simply smile and ask them "Where do you think I came from?

November 3, 20187 yr Author It looks like it is a drive wheel for an attachment. I plan on adding a borer to the table when I build it.
November 3, 20187 yr Author Like this one. It may not be the right one but the bandsaw is a collection of different parts so why not.
November 17, 20187 yr Author Popular Post Okay so after completing the telescope I have now moved onto the Old Band saw with the unknown brand. Since we think it is a conglomerate of parts I am branding it the "Delta Craftparksman" Band Saw. I took the saw apart last night and took inventory of what work needs to be done. Well as I was taking it apart the saw bit me and I had to do some hillbilly first aid. Gotta Love masking tape and gauze. Here is what I know so far. The main drive wheel is warped and need to be straightened. You can also see I have four distinctly different wheels.Hmmm Interesting. The square tube frame on top is solid albeit crooked. I think that will have to be corrected. The paint is actually in good shape but dirty so this means less work. I may need to replace the main drive wheel that connects to the electric motor due to bent spokes. I am debating on what wood to use for the bed, oak or spruce. This job should not take as long as I initially thought due to the condition of the parts.
November 17, 20187 yr Great start so far...well all but the thumb. Try not to make too much noise so the dog doesn't get excited.
November 18, 20187 yr Blood stains are hard to get off old iron. Please be careful. Edited November 18, 20187 yr by p_toad

November 18, 20187 yr Ken, Glad to hear most of the part's are in pretty good shape. It is interesting that it has so many various styles of wheels. I carry a roll of electrical tape and paper towels in my pocket for attending to the "Ooops" when they occur. At least your dog doesn't appear to try to get involved while you're tinkering, I've got a cat that tries to insist in helping! Maple "Butcher Block" would also look good for the table/tables, that is what I believe most were made from back in the old days.
