So, let's see...pay upwards of several hundred dollars for a "smart phone", take the case off to get an accurate reading from a free app, and risk dropping it on the floor destroying the phone...or...just go buy an inclinometer for less than the deductible on the phone insurance.

Bill, you're shopping in all the wrong places. OUR Samsung J3s were less than a hunnert bucks. Wife and I each have one and we keep one in the car. We haven't had a land line for years. So, no extra expense involved to use the FREE clinometer App. 

Haven't been unlucky enough to drop my Wixey but, it would likely suffer the same damage.

F436's in a USS...

Got the protractor but, string, straws and tape is getting expensive. And, washers...oh my. 

Did I mention the stringless, tapeless and washerless app is FREE. 

And, it doesn't need re built after a few uses.

A plastic strew or paper one? would a popsickle work?
