But, when I hit install, nothing happened. I was sorely disappointed. Later, I picked up the cell phone to find that it had been installed on it. I never did nuttin to tell it to do that. July 13, 20187 yr Thanks Gene...I looked...when you downloaded it, it didn't install on my phone so I will. Were you wearing your aluminum foil hat? Maybe that's why it went else where? Never thought to check for a Clinometer app. Looked at some for calculating board feet, but most of the reviews weren't so hot. Good post!
July 13, 20187 yr Hey y'all know there is a similar device already on an iPhone in the compass app. Just open Compass and slide screen left and there it is . No bubble though , just the angle. Not only that you can lay the phone flat and it will tell you the angle on the surface and even float left and right like a bubble. Edited July 13, 20187 yr by Gerald

July 13, 20187 yr Popular Post My OCD requires me to make sure that: pictures hang straight, that shelves and doors hang level, etc. I don't always want to go get a level to fix the problem. I, also, have a compass app on my iPhone. Don't ask me why, it is totally useless, since I am usually going in several different directions at once!

Now, anyone know of a similar app that would measure the angle on the miter saw, fence to blade? I have tried all sorts of things with my Wixey, without finding the means to do it.

Didn't you just answer your own question? ...use the app on your phone for a quick reference. I find the app to be really accurate...

All I know is that I could not figure out a way with the Wixey. @Cal try this "Handy Level" can indicate angle in degrees and RADs. The "Compass" app doesn't do that. Handy Level will do basically the same thing as the Wixey cube.

Now if you move the blade the angle should read as long as you keep the phone against the blade. Ooops! Sorry Cal, that didn't work with either the compass or Handy Level. My bad! There has to be a way...

July 13, 20187 yr Author A low tech way to set the angle on the MS is to use the Miterset segment set to cut a piece of 1/4" or 1/2" ply on the TS to the desired angle and, use that to set the MS. I have several angles cut for my most used MS settings.

I gots one of those... and doesn't flutter or need recharging or batteries... works over a larger surface for a more uniform measure... great for copying/measuring/transfering angles
