I'm appalled by the attitude of some people her, really appalled! Keeping something like Pecan pie from me is bad enough, I can bake my own if need be. However, keeping it from the children is just too much to contemplate.

This is way beyond him, now! Regardless of the fact he brought no doughnuts, pie OR ice cream. The fact remains, that, there are certain elements here, that are surreptitiously, taking the goodies for themselves, are working behind the scenes.

Not at all. Gramps is teaching them to fend for themselves, as well as encouraging them to learn how to bake! All very important things in this dog-eat-dog (or pie) world!
