@Mike Mathieu used to be a regular here and we loved his Intarsia work he shared with us, we sure wish he'd make it back, if he's healthy enough! For now though we can enjoy world class work he left behind.

Thanks Stick.

See edited topic. And welcome Smitty!

A few more thin strips then some dry assembly. Rifle box deux is taking shape.

Got a week to work. Next Friday, son and family coming up from Tucson for a few fun filled days of four wheel trail riding. Then Tuesday, we pick up a friend who flew in from Michigan. She'll be here a week. Then we drive her back to Phoenix to catch her plane. THEN, back to the shop for a few uninterrupted days...I hope.

Was doing good...until Friday night.....have had a BAD weekend.   :(

Project needs a top coat, or three...and delivered.....someday.    Might be awhile....Thyroid issue is also in the mix...

We're all pulling for you, Steve.

Hope you get better soon, @steven newman

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been working on a Table Saw Storage unit for under the extension table and an outfeed table. I have combined the two so I can store the outfeed table out of the way when not needed. I can also use this as an assembly table. I used 2 motorcycle lifts to raise the cabinet off of the base to level it with the table saw. Since my floor is somewhat uneven, I went with 2 lifts so I could adjust for a slight slope (if needed) and for more stability.

Here is the base with the two lifts and casters attached (not many PIP photos)

The entire cabinet is made out of MDF (scraps I had) and the base is from a failed project a few years ago.  Projects like this help me use up some of the scraps that I have accumulating around the shop. Thanks for looking

Worked on some bowls and angels to go in my DIL shop in Asheville. We head that way on Friday so on a tight schedule to get some of these done.

Not much...Pinewood Derby cars completed and turned in Friday evening. 9"+ of wet snow late Friday night through Saturday evening put a damper on most everything. Watched ISHAA Class 3A & 4A State BB Tourney Championship games Saturday; Warren Central H.S. from Indy area won 4A finishing with a perfect 33-0 season. Pretty cool. Watched NCAA Elite 8 games Sat. & Sunday. Church was cancelled Sunday due to the snow and uncertain travel conditions early AM.

A few trips outside to watch grandsons play in the snow & build a snowman; kept the birds fed...kids are out of school for Spring Break this week. Oldest grandson's 7th Birthday is Tuesday...Heavy rain in the forecast for the next 3 days so outside activities are unlikely.

@steven newman...hang in there...take care of yourself...hope you were able to see the doctor(s) today...we're all pulling for you! Gotta' have you at The Patriot Woodworker Summer Fest

House guests all weekend, sister and BIL. Came down from up North to see our son and give him a pep talk. (Sis had colon cancer 8 years ago.) Will be taking son to appointments 2 or 3 times this week, so very little shop time. He and I WILL, however, be taking a short drive tomorrow to see a gent who builds cannons and muzzleloaders! I'm looking around for a Brown Bess repro.

The entire cabinet

That is a great idea ,good job on the cabinet. Man o Man ,that is a world class table extension, could almost build a   3 BR house on that.

The green goes with the color scheme in that nice big clean shop.

Not only is that a good Off feed table, but a great assembly table. Is that some Apple Ply for the top? Just reread your post, that must be MDF top.

@Dadio -yes, the top is MDF. I put some poly on it then johnson's paste wax. Sometime down the road, I will put some laminate on it, but I did not want to do that right now. BTW Herb, my shop is not really all that clean or large. Before the remodel, I had to go outside to change my mind.

I spent the weekend with John Moody in beautiful Florence, Alabama.  We ate a little, shot a little, and made a vain attempt to get his CNC router working.  Seems it didn't like the USB interface.  Back home just a bit ago and ready for some shop time.  I have 2 jewelry boxes that need to be completed.

Monday = last day on job.   Been in that same location for 40+ years.   Everything took longer than expected today except my exit interview.
