Monday = last day on job.   Been in that same location for 40+ years.   Everything took longer than expected today except my exit interview.

Best to ya.  It will take you a while to get used to retirement........ About 10 minutes.

Happy Retirement. I still remember my exit interview; first question: "why are you retiring?". Are you kidding me?, my reply was "to retire". That was 16 years ago, and the only thing I remember from the interview.

I was given two pieces of advise:  1) working past 5:00 pm is working Overtime, regardless of the time you started, and 2) taking a nap is doing something.  I must be the odd man out.  It took me 9 months to adjust.  I received a phone call last month asking me if I wanted to come back and take a short term assignment in New Orleans.  My wife saw me spooling up just thinking about it.  I call back and said thanks, but no thanks.  Danl

Smart move...it'll be getting hot and miserable there in a few weeks. When the temps hit 100° and the humidity is 95-100% you'll be glad you passed it up.

As the Aussies say, "Good on yer, mite!" You can toss out your blood pressure medication now.

P.s.   When I retired, the plant manager came dowm, shook my hand, and said "I don't know what we're going to do without you, John." I rep[lied "Probably shut the plant down!" Five weeks later, they laid everyone off, and closed up for about five months. That was nine years ago, and they STILL aren't operating at capacity!
