Welcome to the fun. Forget the doughnuts!!!!!!!!!!!! Stick'll just hoard them. I'll settle for pie and Vanilla ice cream or at the very least...a Molson's Golden...or two or three or a dozen.

Molsons Ale used to be called Molson's Golden, ummm, 35 years ago! While my friends where drinking PBR, Bud, Strohs, and the rest of the shite beer, I sprung for the extra 10-15¢ a bottle for the Molson's. I cried when I left and moved to Louisiana and found out that I couldn't get it there. I would talk my parents into bootlegging as much as they could fit into the car when they would come to visit.

It' s been called Molson X (for export ) for as long as I've known about beer here in the Montreal region. It is still a top brand. The only other Molson label I know is Molson Canadian, also a top seller. The last few years we have been seing more and more American brands that are licenced to local breweries such as Molson and Labatt. These include Bud, Coors and a few others. They do have a higher alcohol content than the US versions.

Golden may have been the original export ale. It was always smoother, had a heavier body, and less bitter then the normal "premium" beers. I never cared for LaBatt's or Carling's Black Label. I've always been more partial to premium lagers and heavier bodied dark beers. I've always hated the tastes of Bud, Miller, and the like...always bitter to me.

I have never seen this beer in Canada. Maybe it's for the US only. My favorites are Labatt's Blue or Heineken

Welcome to the forum Dan!!

Looking forward to hearing and seeing more pictures from your woodworking school.

Don't bother sending the donuts to Stick or Grandpa. Ohio is closer yet. Just send them to me.

Thanks Larry,

The last time I was in Ohio was 37 yrs ago, I worked for NCR and was attending a training course in Dayton for 3 weeks.

I remember being looked at like I was from a different planet when I asked for fries with my KFC, LOL

As for donuts, I might send a certificate to Stick for inviting me to join. I will have to find the nearest Duncan Donut in Vermont or New York state for there are no more in the Montreal area.

Thought you Canadians had the market on Tim Horton's? You holding out on us?;)

Still waiting on TH to open in Indianapolis...

There are some Tim Hortons in the USA but I'm not sure where. I can vouch for the quality, when we had Dunkin Donuts at every corner the quality was mediocre at best. Tim Hortons took this to a whole new level and I can honestly saw I enjoy everything I have had from them, but like any other large chain, the service can differ greatly from one location to another. Management is what makes the difference.

Looks like you'll have to travel a bit Dan to the closest Canadian location...seems @HARO50 has cornered them all close to him...that explains things:P

You can order on-line and have them shipped to both the States & Canada...just sayin...

Don't worry about the fries with KFC. Not everyone in Ohio is like that.

I'm about 136 miles North of Dayton and it wouldn't be a problem at all where I'm at.
