Cabinet in Wood Magazine

Featured Replies

I really like that cabinet in the last mag. I got. I think it would work out for our kitchen for storage. Think I might build one. Any one else got any comments?

I'm assuming he means the last issue Keith, but can't speak with authority since I no longer subscribe to Wood. When Wood dumped the forums, I assumed they no longer valued me as a customer.

Which issue? I still subscribe to WOOD, but not sure which cabinet you are talking about.

Would that be the "crafter's project center"? If yes, I think that could be useful in a kitchen setting...but I would mock it up first with cardboard boxes to make sure it fit where I intended it to go.

Ah, if that's the one, I showed it to my wife,, who is a quilter/sewer.    The immediate problem that I saw was that there is little knee room under the fold-out table and there is no way to get a big piece to the side or back of the sewing area.   I suppose if you were doing small items and you are a small person, it would be OK.  I think it would probably make a decent kitchen pantry.

make the internal selves adjustable..

same thing for the door compartments...

is the fold out necessary???

For those wondering what we're talking about

I'd probably not make it from pine, unless that fit my kitchen decor, too.

That is a nice cabinet. Make a great pantry! I think for a pantry I'd make the door shelves a little deeper.

That cabinet would go a long way towards cleaning up the clutter in my workshop. I think I've found my winter project!

Would make a nice tool cabinet like you see in the fancy woodworking magazines

show me a picture of something and i can likely build it.

and if you wanted the fold-out larger, simply inset the shelf above and extend the folded piece up into that area.
