DAB, what kind of issue were you having if I may ask, your report may help others who may be having the same issue, and help us resolve it. Thanks sir!

I feel this site is WAY ABOVE the old forum that many of us came from. THANK YOU JOHN! For starting this forum and for all of the work you do in keeping it going!!

hit my link, showed me logged out.  hmmm.... so i hit the log in button on top, it inserts my username and saved password (which i had forgotten, that's why i let the computer save it for me), and it won't log me in.  tried the "forgot password" yesterday, nothing, again this AM, nothing, finally got an email back this PM after trying again, got my password changed and logged back in.

gremlins.

@John Morris We contribute but you are what makes this site what it is. I can attribute that to the fact that you listen to us when we say there may be a better way. I have always said that about the companies I work for that " we have a huge brain trust right here , so use it to make things better" .  Thanks for what you do, and this is the BEST site on the web.

Can ya'll say moral booster! Reading through every single response here made me proud of "what we all have accomplished!". There's a topic in our community where @Dadio said (paraphrasing) "nothing gets built alone, there is a team behind every project". And the team here, our forum hosts, our admins, and you, our contributors, take away one of those variables and we cease to exist.

Thank you all for the generous remarks, I sincerely hope as you make those comments, you are also patting yourselves on the back.

Stick around folks, we have more levels to rise too, it takes time, and patience, and both are in great supply around here. But we'll get there!

Have a fantastically wonderful and safe week ahead!

Couldn't agree more! Thanks for all you do.

Why is it called MENopause?

I know all about that. As part of my Prostate cancer treatment, I was given the drug Lupron. BIG needle in the butt. While it retards or stops cancer progress-------It also put me thru menapause. He said only 6 months,  however it lasted 18 months. Yep, I went thu the same thing that women do. I sure do have a new appreciation and a lot of sympathy for them now.

My doctor discussed Lupron for my prostate cancer, also. We discussed the testosterone reduction it causes. At my age, I wasn't concerned. In the end, we opted for laser treatments. They worked. Just took longer.

I had cyber knife, computer controlled radiation, 5 treatments. It wasn't fun..........but it worked. My last visit he said I was in the

"cure zone"

Unlike you guys I wasn't given a choice. I was diagnosed with stage two at 44. Because of my age they wouldn't do treatments, they just scheduled me for surgery. When I asked why, they explained it this way. If they did the treatments and didn't get it all, then by the time it showed up, again, there would be nothing they could do.

The cyber knife is new, less than 5 years ( i think)  Medicare approved and has been very successful. I also had  the aggressive kind on the Gleason scale. I am one very blessed man:)

You guys are scaring me.

don't be afraid of dying, everyone does it sometime.

A close 79 yo member of the family had his done last year. They inserted 125 needles in his prostrate and radiated him a number of times then removed the needles. his cancer is gone.

Another good friend at 68 yo. had 100+ radioactive seeds planted in his prostrate, he is still good to go. That was over 12 years ago..

Gerald sums my thoughts up nicely!

Thanks @John Morris for the vision, commitment, passion and willingness to take the risk to create a legacy.

and now i get signed off every day....grrr....

My PSA slowly rose from 1.4 to 2.0 in 6 years. My Dr insisted I get the sample test done. Less than 25% of this test show anything and it still may not mean cancer. Mine came back as the most aggressive kind. My advise is to get a PSA yearly, some Drs are saying it isn't necessary.   I am living proof that it can save your life.

My urologist insists that the PSA is needed, but to also include a digital exam yearly. My family doctor doesn't seem to agree with the digital exam part.
