Friday, May 5, 2017, What's on your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

This has been one of those weeks that I have been busy as can be and don't feel like I accomplished much. I have about four projects in various stages and none of them completely finished. Oh well, I at least know that I have something to do each day.

I have a batch of Pizza Peels that are in the process, but not finished right now. I am still sanding on the Walnut Vanity top and Kitchen shelf. The Oak cabinet doors were waiting on the cutting boards to come out of the finishing room.

I did get a batch of ten cutting boards finished. Five medium size and five small size boards.

So this weekend I am going to try to get stain on the Cabinet doors and Sanding Sealer on the Vanity and Kitchen shelf.

The Pizza Peels should get finished also this weekend so I'll post pictures of those when done.

So what is on your Patriot Woodworker agenda? We all look forward to Friday to see all of the projects you are working on and your plans for the weekend. Post your projects and pictures for all of us to see this weekend.

What ever is on your agenda this weekend, have fun and be safe!

Just finished cleaning off my workbench and at the same time talking on the phone with a "computer tech" (who had a thick foreign accent) telling me he was calling because I had something wrong with my computer. He steered me to the teamviewer sight to download it so he could "fix" my computer. As much fun as I was having, leading him on, I ended the conversation.

Not sure what I'll get into next- depends who calls, I guess.

Not much planned for the shop this weekend. Busy with the wife doing honey do's

More of the same . Finished 2 more ornaments yesterday sans finish. Waiting for 7 BOC bowls to dry for 2nd turning

Building two more track saws. Well, the track parts, anyway. 16 inchers for crosscuts and, mainly to cut the ends of the gun case lid.

One will fit a wee little Skil 5 1/2". The other for the Skil 77 worm drive.

Tomorrow, the lid gets separated. Then build a hinge mortising jig and install the hinges.

Finished sanded a few bowls, didn't do much this except lay around, been fighting a head cold that just wants to hang on. Gonna be a busy weekend with birthday parties and such. Our wood turning club meeting is Sunday, as much as I look forward to that it will take most of the day.

Wow, Herb. Those are really nice. The burns add a lot. As if the hinges didn't.

You've been a busy guy.

Today was the day I've been looking forward to for 6 weeks. Today, I finished building the last cabinet for the school project. Of course, I still have 12 of them stacked in my garage waiting for a dry, warm day that I can spray them.  Here's the last case without the back.

absolutely awesome Herb...

Happy Cinco De Mayo! My agenda for today was to pinch everyone not wearing green. :D

Got the new speed controller in for the lathe late yesterday and got it installed today.  I have a chainsaw to repair and will be able to turn something on the Delta after I get that done.

No wonder I got so many dirty looks. Actually, the cops were quite nice, though.

So, what are the construction details on this, how to join the shelves, trim, etc?

Not much woodwork for me, Saturday is a granddaughter's first birthday (across the state) and Sunday is are friends' 50th anniversary party.   I'm converting a pile of pallets into a poultry coop/run.   I don't know how many nails I've had to pull.   News tonight said 9th straight day of rain with another coming up tomorrow.  5+" of rain over that time.  i think I may plant some rice.

@Dadio....Herb those turned out spectacular. Each one has it's own unique character. As Gene mentioned, as if the wooden hinges alone weren't something to behold.

@Ron Dudelston...Well you made it finally...sorta'...looks like they're gonna' be with you a while since the weather forecast remains bleak. :(

For me right this moment, killing time until about 1 AM (EST). Grand-daughter is on her way back from Cincinnati and Kings Island with her Middle School show choir team...Her third and final year with this group. They performed at KI this year in addition to the contest. Also completed 3 consecutive years of Superior Ratings...first for her school. Apparently she was able to carve out some time between rains and performances to ride all the roller coasters today too:lol:...Will be a quiet ride for the bus driver...I always enjoy shining my headlights at the kids when they disembark...resembles watching an episode of "The Walking Dead!":o Tomorrow will be shuttling her sister for a tennis invitational.

The antibiotic seems to have done it's job so if the weather holds the remainder of the weekend...one project period...Mowing.

Congrats to that young lady!

With all the rains you guys been getting, ya might need a wind row rake and baler.

Thanks...she loves to sing, dance & perform (and think up 1000 ways to agitate her older sister:rolleyes:)...quite a change from the shy little girl we first met.

As for the yard...yep...first order is to get it dry enough where it's not like walking on a big sponge...worse start to a spring mowing season I think I've ever experienced.

@Ron Dudelston that one looks like it turned out nice. Those extra pieces under the shelves should really help.
