December 11, 201411 yr ok I will start, you know you are a woodworker when while at your day job, a job that is completely unrelated to wood, all you can think about is woodworking., or perhaps it's just getting close to the weekend! Anyone else care to try?
December 12, 201411 yr Popular Post You know you're a woodworker when all of your pockets have wood chips in them and that is after they're washed.
December 12, 201411 yr Author Popular Post You know you're a woodworker when all of your pockets have wood chips in them and that is after they're washed. Nice! You know your a woodworker/wood turner when your driving down the street and you brake for a downed tree!
December 12, 201411 yr Popular Post You know you're a woodworker when you can identify all the wood types in the pallets and are thinking what you could make from them instead of loading the truck
December 12, 201411 yr Popular Post You can say crotchwood with a straight face. You can spend the whole day in the shop, accomplish little if anything, and thoroughly enjoy it. You know exactly where to find anything in the shop....except a pencil. You remove more splinters from your hands in a week than normal people do in ten years. You can correctly pronounce Padauk and Lignum Vitae. The term "Rockwell Hardness" is an important part of your knowledge base. You know why there is a "T" in Jointer and can't understand why spell check highlights it. You consider Abrams, Ramsey, Hayakawa, Taylor, and more, friends though you've never met them.
December 12, 201411 yr You know you're a woodworker when you make kindling, not mistakes. You know you're a woodworker when you know the difference between a mortise and a tenon or a rail and a stile. When you have 6 bags of sawdust and don't know what to do with them. (come see the porch on my barn for proof)
December 12, 201411 yr Author Ok ready for this! You know you are a woodworker when you decide stationary machinery in your garage is more important then your wife parking her car in the garage!
December 12, 201411 yr Author I hope Steve chimes in here, I know he's got some great ones! He's probabaly the most hard core woodworker here!
December 12, 201411 yr Popular Post You know you are a woodworker when you hear someone say the name "NORM" and the thought of a fictional bar in Boston never enters your mind.
December 12, 201411 yr Author You know your a woodworker when your at a doctors office and you get a terminal illness diagnosis yet you don't even hear it because you are admiring the fine cabinetry in the docs office! No, it has not happened to me, yet!
December 12, 201411 yr Popular Post To a woodworker, "Garage" and "Shop" are not synonyms. They are mutually exclusive terms referring to the same space. As in "Honey, I'm gonna back your car outta my shop, OK?" Related: "It's OK. Most of it will blow off after a couple miles."
December 12, 201411 yr Nice! You know your a woodworker/wood turner when your driving down the street and you brake for a downed tree! I have done that, went back loaded the log and put in my yard!
December 12, 201411 yr John, I don't have any stationary machinery in the garage but does 700 BF of lumber count?
December 12, 201411 yr John, I don't have any stationary machinery in the garage but does 700 BF of lumber count? Well I have tools in both of the Garages, so I guess I have two shops. WOW!

December 14, 201411 yr Popular Post Ok ready for this! You know you are a woodworker when you decide stationary machinery in your garage is more important then your wife parking her car in the garage! umm parking the car in the garage was NEVER an option at my house.
December 14, 201411 yr Popular Post You know when you are a woodworker when: You get so involved you forget to eat or miss meals. You bring dust or chips in the house and she isn't happy You enter a furniture store and try to detect if there is any real wood there You go into Rocklers like a child in a toy store You get serious about the latest jig and make one right away You buy a tool you don't need because you always wanted one Your whole darn shop is messy and you can't even find the broom Your shop is so densely packed with stuff that you can not store one more thing.
