  1. I saw a lathe tool that could be used on a lathe up to____ inches of swing. I looked it up and that was confusing too: Many lathes are specified with multiple dimensions for swing, so you might see: Swing over bed: 10" Swing over carriage 8" Swing over compound 6" What does it mean to you?
  2. and couldn't talk.....Quick, help. Calm down and tell me whats happening. I just now for the first time heard my first horrible rattle of a rattle snake and he is about ten foot in front of my shop and about 30 foot long. I ran over to the neighbors house and got everybody there to come help. He shot him lots of times but all I find was 7 spent rounds but I know there was at least a whole box of 50 he shot. At least he was real dead when I come in here. I bet he was too!!!! Well what are you gonna do about it to help me.....Honey all I can do is fan and feed you and get you to cool down. No, she said. What can you do out side to help me. You mean go ask a dead snake what he was doing in your yard?? Well she did miss the measurement by a couple of inches but she always thought I was taller than I actually am so I forgive her for that.
  3. Title says it all. The thread? Blue streak in the back yard WHY? WHERE did it go? REALLY? The authour of a post hasn't permission to read his own post? Keeps this up, see if I post ever again....
  4. As some of you know, I was a soccer referee for over 20 years. I officiated every where from the kids to the pros. When the article from Time magazine showed up, I have to share it with Y'all. I'm sure that those times arise that we do things that absolutely make no sense to anyone but us. How about sharing some of YOUR times. Here's part of the article: By Katie Harris / London Sept. 21, 2014 There aren’t many jobs where you have to deal with the collective rage of tens of thousands of people at once, with routine, in-your-face abuse from individuals who may be earning more in one week than you earn in a year. Where your possible mistakes are endlessly analyzed on TV and social media. Many people think that being a football referee must be one of the worst jobs in the world. You constantly get scrutinised for 90 minutes after every decision you make- or don't make.... Count global soccer refs among them. Jeff Winter, a former high-profile Premier League referee who retired in 2004, believes that abuse towards referees has worsened over the past decade – and he largely attributes this trend to the game’s rising financial stakes. While top referees earn a salary ranging between £70-85,000 per year, Those guys running up and down the sidelines with their flags earn about £600 per match and often work harder than the referee. Deloitte reported that Premier League soccer players earn an average of £30,000 per week. (Wayne Rooney on £300,000 a-week at Manchester United) The increase in prize money for the Premier League champions has increased by 1,852% in just 20 years. Enough of this one. I loved my officiating jobs. I really did.
