  1. Got time with my grandson on the lathe for the first time. We turned a platter together and the I textured and colored it. Used some pecan scraps. He had fun and we do a Pen tomorrow. After he left shop shop I did a test platter for finish test with wax on offering plates.
  2. A lot to cover this week so we'll jump right in! Our Patriot Turners- @Jim from Easy Wood Tools not only sells the best turning tools available, he knows how to use them, too! Gorgeous walnut bowl!!! Check out Jim's post and the wonderful comments he received on this beauty! @Bob Hodge showed us a fantastic cherry bowl he turned and embellished with some of the gems his wife collected. Please see Bob's post for an explanation of how he added the gems and all of the great comments and tips our members provided.
  3. When your youngest grandson spends the night, why not put him to work! This is Lewis cleaning out my Uni.
  4. Grandson has been working his tail off at Plasti-Pak, the place I retired from. Forklift driver. He happened to remember my Birthday ( two months late) and brought over a few things...Lunch! chinese Shrimp & Scallops on rice,,,,,spicy stuff..and these three things. None of these are Disston products. The one in the middle has a very nice etch, something about "Clearcut". The little guy might be a Sandvik. The biggie? Unknown, yet. Gave them a clean up after LUNCH! and Thanking grandson. Even showed him the clean up results. Maybe I'll get less blurry ones later. Not too bad a present?
