Friday April 24th, 2026-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Well, I put my glasses on and took another look. I think Dan may be on to something, or it might be the fine adjustment Rusty mentioned.

    Unfortunately, I have to attend the funeral of an old friend on Saturday. Navy vet and one of the Godliest men I have ever met. Today though, I’m doing odds and ends in the shop. Building picture f

I thought the thumbscrew would be way to set the radius you want. Hmmmmm.

Spent a little time in the garden yesterday planting some roots & bulbs that were backordered from last year. Trimmed the hedges to get the new growth under control. Still regretting that grass fertilizing last fall, grass is green & full and yesterday was the second time I cut it this week. Thought it was Saturday until the school bus pulled up in the afternoon.

@Bubba Nice work on the cabinet, should serve you well.

@BB1 Those crosses look great & the dog does as well.

Put the workbench top that I glued up last week on top of the old mitersaw table frame.

The workbench top is 6 foot so built a quick frame that I attached to the old mitersaw table frame (only 4+ foot in length) for added support. Interesting that I went to BORG for 2x4. The shorter ones were wet to the touch so got a 16 foot 2x4 that looked good and had it cut in half so it would fit in our Jeep. Grabbed an 8 foot 2x8 as well. Glad I did as the 2x4 maxed out my moisture meter, whereas the 2x8 was around 8-10% so cut that down to make the frame.

Then temporarily attached the top to that with some brackets. Not overly solid so need to start planning out the base. At least it's no longer stacked on my other work surface so I can use both (all horizontal surfaces are open for business 😁).

Hope to get released from hospital yet this weekend. Journey began Thursday with high fever taking us to local ER ~7:30P there they recorded 104°. After a bevy of tests, X-rays and CT Scan got my second ambulance ride in two years ~1A this time to Indy Northside Hospital; was in their ER until about 6A waiting for room availability in PCU;

Remained there until about 3P waiting for a spot in surgery. There they inserted a stent in my right kidney to circumvent a 10mm kidney stone. Was back in PCU until after 5P once a room was ready on post op floor; Kidney stone and stent remain for 4-6 weeks until all infection is cleared. After who knows how many IVs of antibiotics as well as port and oral injections plus who knows what else (oh the hospital accounting department does for all the scans of my ride free all day wrist band); last of the high fever (103.9) was registered about 1P today.

No fever spikes for 24 continuous hours is the first bar to gain parole; still waiting on some test results that won't be available until after 3P tomorrow. I finally ate a bit of food tonight; basically hadn't eaten since Wednesday evening; no it wasn't a donut; even if they were on the menu no desire for them; the series of injections directly into my stomach negate any desire.

Aside from this, the Hospital issued a formal Tornado warning yesterday evening. Apparently there was some damage not far from the hospital then on further east.

Anyways, that's my weekend so far. Can't wait to be devoid of tubes, hoses, ports and the like. Looking forward to my walk around the floor in a bit. Hoping to get an actual night of sleep sans the every 2-4 hours of interruptions to see if I know where I'm at and when I was born.

Hope your weekend is better.

Sorry to hear that Dave, sounds like it sucks. Hopefully you at least have some cute nurses.

Has anyone heard from Dave? Is he alright?
