April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Friday again folks. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I spent most of the week chasing a lightening hit gremlin that went through Bruce's building next door.Had to have Spectrum come out to replace both the internet modem, and router. So far the gremlin has left the phone modem alone. Also blew the fuses for the well pump which required recharging the well systems air cushion.Took out two of the security cameras, and the DVR has been acting strangely by going on, and off line on it's own and won't allow access to the menu to reprogram it. So will probably have to replace it also.Took out a few LED light bulbs that were turned off when the hit occurred.Still have to service the lawn maintenance equipment. So as I go "Gremlin Chasing",What's on Your weekend Agenda?
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Unfortunately, I have to attend the funeral of an old friend on Saturday. Navy vet and one of the Godliest men I have ever met. Today though, I’m doing odds and ends in the shop. Building picture frames for a friend, cheese slicers and hat racks for the store.
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Calling for a rainy weekend here so maybe I can get to the lathe. Putting together a demo for the local turning club.
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Went to funeral of a club member yesterday. Finally got the garden planted. I think I raked up 6 buckets of grass plus the 2 already makes a great addition to the compost pile. Now hoping the electric fence works to keep the deer out. Then did the mowing on the front. To say the least today will be much slower. Hoping to get some little stuff done in shop so can get to larger projects.
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Just got finished washing my jeep compass. More pollen on it then the trees that spit it out. Tidied up my shop. Getting ready to make another cross. Just finished making this. Edited April 24Apr 24 by MrRick
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Last Friday I said I was going to make a mobile cabinet for my new Grizzly scroll saw. I got started on it last Saturday but didn't finish it until last Wednesday. It was a tight fit between my workbench and the trash can. Being the cheapskate I am I didn't want to purchase another 4 locking casters like I did for my band saw/ belt sander and table saw so I scrounged up a couple of stationary casters and a piece of angle iron for wheels. I mounted the wheels so they were about 1/4" off the floor. In order to get the weight of the cart on the wheels I added a couple of handles on the front. I can raise the front just a couple of inches off the floor and roll the cart around like a wheel barrel. Thanks to a YouTube video I didn't have to buy drawer slides, I made them myself from some 1"x3/4" hard wood scraps as guides and the 3/4" plywood bottom of the draws is 7/8" wider on each side (this being the slides) and 3 1/2" longer than the drawer compartment so I can pull the drawers almost all the way out without the drawer falling out of the runners. It was a fun build and I had numerous opportunities to hide my mistakes. I found out something about myself during this project........... if I had to make a living as a cabinet maker .......... I would starve to death. 😁

April 24Apr 24 Author Sure it's not Monday?Got the walk behind Zero-Turn running. Had to replace the primer assembly. Starts first pull now, but of course yhpruM had to show up.Ran two tanks of gas through it, and the drive traction cable broke. Did somebody say "Break Time"?
April 24Apr 24 Popular Post Worked on several little projects. Two crosses that will be given away at an upcoming volunteer project. Think this is white oak - grain is so pretty. This is walnut on maple. And then a housewarming gift for my niece who bought a house. The dog is a 3D print that I thought looked a bit like her dog, plus some metal hooks for leads, collar, etc. Red oak with Odie's Oil, keyhole slot to hang it securely.

April 25Apr 25 Popular Post we set our booth up for a small craft show all the way over in Fond Du Lac. I'll post a booth shot tomorrow if I remember. Came back home to make a couple of hangers for our grid-wall station then sat down with a big ol glass of brandy. earlier in the week I began modifying our display carts to make them easier to maneuver into and out of the cargo trailer.hoping to finish that up on Sunday afternoon.
April 25Apr 25 Popular Post The turn screw is for fine adjustment, like for when a machinist or drafter uses them. Looks like a Lotta work ahead for you. Nice haul.
April 25Apr 25 Popular Post Maybe I can't see it well enough, but that thumb screw doesn't look like it adjusts anything. To my eyes it looks like it affixed to only one leg of the dividers.
April 25Apr 25 Popular Post they might be stuck but one lug is affixed to the divider leg the other lug is attached to a leg keyed to the pivot screw, if they are like mine they will be slightly spring loaded and you should be able to feel small amount of play between the two legs, a little oil and some movement might help to loosen things up.
April 25Apr 25 Popular Post Looks to me like it may tighten the pivot nut to hold the setting from moving.
