Roh-kay, Raggie..Friday was a busy day, anyway way..Panel came out of the clamps...

NOVLumberRehabtabletopflattening.jpg.32b7ee7ef5a8f8f5afa9e5ba21421671.jpg

These 2 took turns at flattening both faces...then

NOVLumberRehabtabletopsmoothing.jpg.ddc5eb4a9d030bf1d552c1d61b8c45e5.jpg

This one smoothed out a few spots

Next, got out me Drawing Kit

NOVLumberRehabtabletopdrawaline.jpg.bbefddbd294812a71696e30936912436.jpg

Needed 4 lines that this "Thing" could follow..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopPOWRKRAFT.jpg.450fe88ed9893edaddf802b7fe68ab88.jpg

And do all 4 corners with..

NOVLumberRehabtabletop4cornersmilled.jpg.c0a53fdeab141077a8b6841d707d5533.jpg

Deabte is for which face will be the "Show Face"..

Aprons?

NOVLumberRehabtabletopbadapron.jpg.8b435676a5a65c3be1b72673604637d1.jpg

Was not happy with the short one..meanwhile, there were "Steps" between the curves and the straight sections...we have ways..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopatrimming.jpg.e6ebcabe23d90062e2a988b89ffcb8d2.jpg

With THAT taken care of..back to the apron problem...

Had a chunk of 2 x6 Ash..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopnewapron.jpg.278106007b9764a8e9c76d9d7844fb38.jpg

Laid the short apron down to find the best section...

NOVLumberRehabtabletopJUNK.jpg.0b3c741c8da95983a6761802d587b1d3.jpg

This was on it's way to the Fire Pit bin

Used the short apron one more time..ripped the 2x  for width..then stood it up and resaw to thickness...

NOVLumberRehabtabletop2good1bad.jpg.c207c10d6f2b44981cc5e6d19f533d78.jpg

That needed a bit of clean up..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopneedsplaned.jpg.004bf5e6cd2d3a957f19fe10d639a3ec.jpg

We have ways of making you flat....

NOVLumberRehabtabletopsmootheddown.jpg.771551b0fd8c27c861f97524b3f4e226.jpg

So..NOW I have 4 aprons I am happy with..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopapronsreadytotenon.jpg.664b045637dbcf5f2735eaf0e6fbd879.jpg

Next..Legs....

NOVLumberRehabcovescovebit.jpg.2eeb7cb55101c9ff80658d20a2090f33.jpg

My Stanley #45 does not include any cove bits...but..my router does..

NOVLumberRehabcovescovesran.jpg.a4a5edbf618b6c723ed2861de7aa75db.jpg

The face that get a cove, had not been planed smooth..so I did that first, router had to be pulled back towards me..

Repeat 3 more times...

NOVLumberRehabcovesoutsidecornersonly.jpg.aeba691fc9919bd2bf9beec595cd86e0.jpg

Not quite a true "Cove" but..I like it..

Will see about milling tenons and Mortises later today...stay tuned🤠

By the way..this is the other face...

NOVLumberRehabtabletoptoporbottom.jpg.b2ca6b6fdce2e72eb6039ce615a2e818.jpg

Trying to decide which will be the "Show Face"....or..

NOVLumberRehabtabletop4cornersmilled.jpg.2cf7ca8e5775535dca8d12e2383199ee.jpg

Hmmm...

Yes..all of this did make a mess on my shop floor...swept up into a pile..

NOVLumberRehabtabletopcleanupaisle1before.jpg.ab05418734c2541cce04437baabddd5f.jpg

Then cleaned up and into the Fire Pit Bin...

NOVLumberRehabtabletopAfterwards.jpg.8c5889e234db2b6f81a3ad1b8c305a15.jpg

Still a bit dusty...oh well..at least it isn't Carpet....😉

I'm liking the way those legs will look! The second "top" picture has lots of character.

That's looking great Bandit. My vote for the show face is the second pic👍

Ok..next task?   Needed to change a saw blade, before I start on milling Tenons..so

NOVLumberRehabbladechangestart.jpg.6be21e3c762796759351ddf322d1bc38.jpg

Need to remove the rip blade, and put the red blade in it's place..

NOVLumberRehabbladechangenotmuchroom.jpg.fd80fca1b21c8e1905ae0258b1ce7a3b.jpg

Not a whole lot of room for fat fingers to work in...

NOVLumberRehabbladechangeDonedid.jpg.08e0d9c3042f1f9c8eb2cca37449fba6.jpg

Took about 5 minutes..and yes..

NOVLumberRehabbladechangeyeswasunplugged.jpg.41662df73b0267bd948125c5c7ae6c83.jpg

Saw was indeed un-plugged...

Needed to find out how thick the Aprons actually were...

NOVLumberRehabTenonsthickness.jpg.4db4f8de350fdac8437357eaf7159a2f.jpg

We have ways...

NOVLumberRehabTenonsthatthick.jpg.006efed0c224f86a0e64e6a0343bfd55.jpg

A hair under 3/4" thick...as I needed to center this thing up...

NOVLumberRehabTenonscenteredup.jpg.8f6f63ff3100c28188881de067f1978e.jpg

About 1/3 of the thickness..worked on all the aprons..

NOVLumberRehabTenonsthesecutsdone.jpg.e0ee1fd02b3c820551288e63127309db.jpg

Almost...because 2 were a bit thicker...still needed 2 more cuts made..

NOVLumberRehabTenonssecondcutsdone.jpg.0d15b312d8cf055b244fc0189e486aee.jpg

Cheek?  Shoulder?  about 1/2" removed...

Needed to lay out for a mortise..

NOVLumberRehabTenonsmatcheschisel.jpg.af3660c3733f673bf2c41d49791bad1d.jpg

Set to match the tenon, and the chisel..

First, a bit of work to make the coves..

NOVLumberRehabCovesApronsFlattened.thumb.jpg.33fc1e6e1122638951cfdca13c756bec.jpg

Yep, there is a screwhole in that tenon...and the only thing that will see it, will be the glue...Flattened the best looking face on each apron..

NOVLumberRehabCovesApronscleanup.thumb.jpg.17cb5210dc1525c1969bd32407bc2403.jpg

Then a smoother to finish up after the coves were milled..

Ok, got out the Mortise jig...it was still set up for legs...Got out a Stanley No. 77....

NOVLumberRehabMortisesNo.77atwork.thumb.jpg.c5f5c5c185c0c6cebc801969a1ffbdd7.jpg

Laid out a mortise.

NOVLumberRehabMortisesjiggedup.thumb.jpg.9f332b05f5e8fe9cb9c69fa59fddeb54.jpg

All set to chop...then a dry fit..

NOVLumberRehabMortisesDryfit.thumb.jpg.93037f60a5071dc578b60f6393ed1744.jpg

Then do the other Mortise for this leg..and dry fit it, as well...

NOVLumberRehabMortisesonecornerdone.thumb.jpg.22e5a2b073460518969e64079d21751a.jpg

One corner done...3 more to go...

Stay tuned🤠

Kept going...

NOVLumberRehabMortisesonemorelegtodo.jpg.79bbb9799f8a92231a6c62a3b5b5e58d.jpg

Got the last mortise chopped...

NOVLumberRehabMortiseslastone.jpg.a111fc7b9c24c0c0779a399cc71fffa7.jpg

Decided to just go ahead and glue things up..

NOVLumberRehabMortisesaglue-up.jpg.92cbf18c9c7d369a82fa88ee59993eb7.jpg

Diagonal clamp to pull things into square..with a bit of help from the Tablesaw..

NOVLumberRehabMortisessquaredup.jpg.b9ac7c6af942d8cbdc51c12564eae370.jpg

these ridges, are square to the front edge of the Tablesaw's top...works for me...

Decided to work on corner braces...sooo..

NOVLumberRehabMortisescornerbracestock.jpg.58bf94f103c2ed85437e9559d7d74ba6.jpg

Had a decent enough piece of Pine scrap...made a bunch of 45 degree miter cuts....drilled a few counter sunk pilot holes...

NOVLumberRehabcornerbracesInstalled.jpg.4688857639ca6213adc407bb2b67d9f0.jpg

And, a few slotted mounting holes...glue & screw into the corners....add a screw and a washer to attach the base to the Top.....

NOVLumberRehabcornerbracesbasedone.jpg.bb59fadeb0816b3774eb3f720e6bd625.jpg

Letting this sit a day...still have to run a cove around the top of the Top..and see about a finish..

Stay tuned..

Out of the clamps, this morning..

NOVLumberRehabfinishingupcovededge.jpg.4e074b0e3852efe2f18a4a4548c8781f.jpg

ran this thing around, twice..

NOVLumberRehabFinishingupRouter.jpg.523375f723e9bc72b18447009ccc04be.jpg

then sanded the top to 220 grit, for now...

NOVLumberRehabFinishingup220grit.jpg.9139fbc1abd1a4cd93d26772e60ec851.jpg

Moved this back to the tablesaw....stained the underside...and wiped it down..

NOVLumberRehabFinishingupundersidetoo.jpg.5d6228b77f442b8675819dc218cde5fd.jpg

Then, did the same to the top of the Table..

NOVLumberRehabFinishinguptopstained.jpg.4070949898e5ffede55d5cdd7f15944c.jpg

Stand this up on it's own four feet....and let it dry a day...or 2...

Brush on, wipe off...

Stay tuned :OldManSmiley:

1st mistake....brought the table upstairs

2nd Mistake....The Boss caught sight of it..

Had to move the bed about half a foot..then re-route all the cords and cables...to her NEW side of the bed...then she loaded it up with all her bedside stuff...

Project has done been Table-napped!

Table is an exact match, height-wise to the top of the Mattress...

Thanks for looking in!
