One of the best things I got done this weekend were putting much better casters on my PM160 so it's easy to roll around.  I also dug into it's motor starter to check that I could use it with 240 VAC single phase instead of 3 phase, and made some adapters to put the single phase motor on it.  I'll probably get it running soon and quickly decide that it must have a Byrd head :D

Another good one was sharpening 4 Forstner bits.  I use 1.25" a lot and have three of them (two of which were sharpened this weekend).  For some reason I like sharpening Forstners.

Also finished up a cork knife handle I've been making and made some progress on parts I sell that have been sitting on the bench way too long.  So all in all, it was a very good weekend.  I needed it, work is killing me right now.  Hopefully the stressful part of the year will be done this week.

EDIT:  Come to think of it, I also made a batch of Russian dressing, inspired by the memory of some from Zingerman's Deli in Michigan somewhere.  My girlfriend sent me a "make your own reuben" kit from them for my birthday in April, and I really liked the Russian dressing.  Normally I don't care for dressings, but this one was excellent.  I just had some on a salad for dinner, and it came out well.  Dill pickle in it is I think the secret.

Only four more months until Christmas! Time to clean up the garage and get the snow blower ready to go. May wax up the snow shovels too.

Menards had their Halloween stuff out last week, and the Halloween Store that is in a former Penney's is open.

Had a good weekend.  My Yooper daughter stopped by Thursday with her son and his fiancée on their way to her home in Lexington, KY.   Daughter stayed with us for the weekend while the others went south.  Then Monday, grandson and fiancée stopped and picked her up on their way back to college in southern MI.  Daughter is headed back north to home today.

Local university had first day Monday and local news did a story.  Granddaughter was interviewed on the story that aired.

Found a broken fence post

Replaced it and added one on either side at 4 ft mark.  Stronger.   Old one lasted 30 years, can't complain.

Rehabbing an old saw. No maker's mark, paid a whole dollar for it at the local flea market. Has a nice handle.

Won't be anything shiney and pretty, but the plate is fairly thin and (now) straight as an arrow and the tooth line is even and has no broken teeth. Should end up being a decent user. Spine is thinner than most vintage saws I've seen, but it was blued, not painted.
