February 23, 2025Feb 23 Author Popular Post Not quite small enough. That's about right. Time to shape it. Sorry, it's too small and my #5 hides it from view. But you get the picture. Kinda.
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Author Thanks. Giving me error 200 when I try to post pics now. Sucky. I'll try a fourth time.
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Author Popular Post patwoodvid.mp4 I think that'll work. Thanks to everyone who followed along. Another one done. NOW what the heck am I gonna do?
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Popular Post Awesome. Nicely done Mike. I'll give you credit, you're far tougher than I am working outside right now. I couldn't keep my hands warm this past week with gloves let alone touching steel with bare fingers.
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Author Popular Post Thanks, Gramps. I just bundle up. As for my hands,as long as I am working I'm pretty much good. The tools have wooden handles, so they warm up in use. But yeah, the deep freeze has been difficult to deal with. Warming up this week here, Woohoo! Edited February 23, 2025Feb 23 by Handfoolery

I'm guessing about 3/8 to 1/2 inch at most. But considering I only would use it for dados, and with 3/4 inch stock they would normally only be about 1/4 inch deep, I think it will do nicely. I don't use a router plane for things like tenon shoulders or other types of work people use them for. I find a chisel works very well for stuff like that, and for me it's quicker and easier, since I've usually got one or two laying on the bench anyway. If I can swing it I would like to buy the kit that Paul Sellers offers. I've got a blank of Sassafras I'd love to build that with. But right now that ain't gonna happen. I might order an annealed O1 blank from McMaster Carr and do something similar, without all the adjustment wheels, etc. We shall see down the road. Thanks for looking and posting on my thread.
