January 27, 20251 yr Popular Post I've mentioned that I could use a router plane. Funds ain't gonna allow the purchase of one, so guess what that leaves? I'm makin this up as I go along; might be ugly, but if it works I do not care. I have some Black Walnut from an old barn. Not really enough to build much of anything, but I think it'll be enough for this. But it needs paint removal and flattening, etc. So after clamping a makeshift stop, I get busy. Snow is going away, and I could not be happier to watch it leave. Dealing with some cup and bow. Making progress.

January 27, 20251 yr Author I have to stop and go get supper on the stove. Hopefully I'll post a bit more later this evening. Thanks for looking!
January 28, 20251 yr Author Popular Post Laying out for the base. And cutting to size. this router will be 7 inches wide. I know, pretty small. But I don't have room in my chest for a large one, this one will be a snug fit.
January 28, 20251 yr Author Popular Post True up the edges. I have some White Ash. It's an offcut from a guitar body blank I long ago cut the body shape from. I never throw hardwood away. The curve on this piece is just what I'm looking for.
January 29, 20251 yr Sorry, connecting flights were delayed to board this plane thread. Looking good so far. That shore is some purty old growth walnut once you got the 'warts' removed.
