Friday again folks! :D

Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it looks like it's going to be a soggy weekend with tonight through Tuesday forecast for rain. <_<

Not sure what I'll be able to get accomplished working around the weather.

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Some piddling in the yard today before we get more rain, then I turn to piddling in the shop. I need to put a new belt on my tiller so if I get up the gumption to move it from the bran to the shop i may take a swing at that.

Busy week providing daily Uber service. Finally got all the yard, ditches, roadsides and fence rows mowed between the rains, winds and frost. Time to start over.

Stopped by the car hospital yesterday afternpon to visit wife's Jeep in the ECU (electrical care unit). Amazingly the PCM/ECM arrived only a few minutes before I did.:ChinScratch:Hopefully this cures the electrical illness barring further complications.

Youngest grandson has a soccer match tomorrow AM if weather permits. Sunday, church responsibilities.

Whatever you do this weekend, be safe, work smarter not harder and take time to smell the donuts.

Week 7 of theater set construction.  I'm in charge this week and have (somewhat) instructions for the volunteers.  I had 18 questions on the 24 pages of plans

Never finished getting all of yard, ditches, etc., mowed between the rains, winds, and frost.

The other days mowing shook that :ArguingSmileys:kidney stone loose. :Punched:

:Tapping: Oh Well, this too shall pass.

Getting some rolling pin blanks prepped for a demonstration. Each is in a different stage of completion. Gotta go to Lowes and get potting soil for Mimi's flower boxes/pots. Will be able to plant stuff in a week or so.

Didn't think I would see the day @steven newman did not have a project on the table.

@Grandpadave52 I had my doughnuts yesterday and an applefritter as well.

Setting up tent and tables today for a show tomorrow. First time doing this one and it is going to be in the mid 80's but no rain.

This weekend I'll be finishing up a few ringmaster bowls I glued yesterday and today. Then try to make some headway on cleaning up the shop. Over the past 5-6 weeks our lumber supplier cleaned up their warehouse by offering us deals we could not refuse. it was one of those toss it on a pile quick before jumping on a plane to Arizona for two weeks of R&R. we put over 2500bf of white oak, quilted maple, hard maple strips, European beech, Padauk, Sapele, into our 24x32 workshop. it's so crowded that when I drop my pencil I have to kick it out the door just to be able to bend over and pick it up. but at <25% of retail price we jumped on it.

Today, hoping to get an early walk in.  Early evening a community gathering in the local park to "meet & greet" our city police department, fire & EMS personnel.  Lots of activities for kids, food trucks and end it all with a fireworks show.

I've spent every afternoon this past week trimming up the trees and shrubs, been a couple of years since I last did it and it needs a lot of attention so I will be doing more of this over the weekend.

And, preparing for next weekend.  We are scheduled to head north to Atl to help our daughter.  I have a bunch of trim to install in her pantry, she wants some help planning out a couple closet do-overs and I want to hit up the Silver Comet Trail with my bicycle.  The bike has not seen service in a few years.  I got it out of storage and pumped the tires up, but the rear didn't hold air.  I need to check the schrader valve and if that is good pick up a new tube and change it out this week.  Daughter's house is on the west side of Atlanta and pretty close to the trail.  I would like to do a short segment of it each time we go up and it's convenient.

That is just AWESOME! I wish more communities would do something similar. Hope folks take advantage of the opportunity.

Picked up the Mrs. Jeep yesterday evening. Amazingly after the total electrical system failure with a new battery, alternator and PCM/ECM, no personal settings had to be reset; radio settings, UConnect, memory settings etc. Wasn't a cheap fix. Very random and bizarre. Owner of the repair shop related a couple of similar failures they had seen before which they were confident were caused by lightning. Coincidently, heavy lightning was occurring in the area just prior. No reports of aliens or UFOs though. Anyways, she's happy, out and about today.

We had about 3 other volunteer dads active throughout the day.  I think we are much more productive with my lead than the usual guy.  I tend to delegate, check in as needed, and work with them, he tends to dig in and others just stand around watching and waiting for something to do.

Thanks Dave, I was mistaken though.  Last year there were maybe three outings where the purpose was as I stated.  Yesterday was actually a tribute to fallen LEO's.  It drew a crowd of LEO's representing city departments and sheriff's offices from around Georgia and South Carolina and I heard mention of one officer from Florida as well as Georgia State Patrol.

Despite my mistake, there was a great turnout from the community.

And glad you got the Jeep fixed.

Sorry I have not been around much lately, very busy at work and with several large side work projects for 3 different companies.  I am currently on a 26-month plan to be able to semi retire in January of 2027.  More work now equals 3 days a week in 2027 and more time in shop.  In theory anyway.

Great to hear from you Gunny and good to know you're doing OK. Sounds like you have a motivated, thought out and aggressive plan. Pace yourself though to ensure it comes to fruition. Stop in any time you can; we miss you here.
