March 16, 20242 yr Popular Post Well guys its been a while since I have spent much time in my shop but recently I had a person request that I build them a table. I got a picture of the legs they wanted and this table was to be shipped to the Florida Keys. So I had to build it so it could be taken apart and assembled by someone that wasn't a woodworker. So I couldn't to mortis and tenon joints since they didn't have clamps to pull it together with. So I found the stainless steel brackets on etsy and ordered them at a cost of 24/00/ea. They work really well and make it easy to line up and level the skirt. I turned all four legs and it has been at least 5 years since I really turned anything. So yes it you look at them close they are not exactly the same. But they were hand turned individually. Best I could get them!! The top will be stained when they get it back to the keys as they want to match something in their new house. I was okay with them staining the top. I painted the legs and skirt with rattle can flat white paint from Lowes. Thanks for checking it out. Hopefully I have another job coming up soon that I can share with you all.
March 16, 20242 yr Popular Post @John Moody don't take this the wrong way but "nice legs"! Really like those brackets, too.

First, welcome back John. Great to have you posting again. As for the project, doesnt look like you missed a beat being away from the shop. Glad to hear you're getting some time back in there. Hope the guard mules are still keeping the lumber safe. 8 hours ago, John Moody said: Hopefully I have another job coming up soon that I can share with you all. Looking forward to it.

March 17, 20242 yr Popular Post Great looking table John, I might have had to deliver it rather than ship Maybe even go fishing while down there...
March 19, 20242 yr Popular Post @John Moody those legs do look wonderful, hand turned with a tad difference just adds more to the table. For not turning in 5 years you sure knocked it out of the park! The brackets are a wonderful idea for shipping and assembly at the recipient end, expensive but well worth the cost, they look very ridged and should stand up to time and use. It's wonderful to see you here again John
