At 6'6", and sitting in an attic crawlspace after a renovation, the door was of no value to cousin. Resale market, maybe a buyer could have been found, but at what cost in time, labor, effort, etc !?!

 

If it had solid wood rails, that wood have been nice.  But the lumber core was really COOL to explore. They used grades of different hardnesses. the outer grades were harder and more tight-grained.

 

I'll be resawing slats (for an indeterminate but definitely very important project  ) off of the remaining rail and stile edges. Amazing core wood.

 

The panels are ply but of superior quality. I saved the grooved strips, the groove plus a ¼". And will make free-standing / hanging framed panels.

 

Waiting for backing or a wife with a good job, so I can get a better shop. My thinking is that there is money in woodcrafting. Ya just have to get me off the couch, and there's a goldmine awaiting. At least, that's what I tell every prospective missus.
