November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post Monday? Leave it at that.....did not get a whole lot done over the weekend....and the shop is usually closed on ...Mondays... So....what on the plans for this week? Taking a few planks to a Barn, today...having them all planed down to a consistent 3/4" thickness...then Drawer Building 101...and gluing up a panel for the Top of the case..will see how the week goes...
November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post Didn't make it out to the shop over the weekend. Too many honey do's on the list. We did rearrange some furniture in the house. Hauled off some furniture that Mrs. Boss sold online and took other stuff to the local charity donation center. Installed an Ameritron RCS-8V remote antenna switch and control box. The two items are connected with a CAT5e cable. This system works by closing one of 5 solenoids in the remote unit based on the selection of the control box. In other words, a knob allows selection of one of 5 specific antennas connected to the same radio. This installation was required to prepare for the installation of a new 24' vertical Comet CHA250HD omni-directional multi-band antenna. This system also allows for isolation of all antennas in the event of thunderstorm activity. .40
November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post Did manage to get the row of spirea hedges trimmed back. Five 7 cu/ft wheel barrow loads. 4ah Ryobi battery still had power to spare. I didn't. Saturday turned out to be sports overload. Ran out of devices and bandwidth trying to watch football games, granddaughters swim meet and keep up with grandsons basketball tournament. Somehow forgot about our annual Thanksgiving carry-in meal after worship service yesterday. Good attendance; abundance of food and great fellowship. I was good though; only 1 trip through the main dish line and only one small piece of pecan-pie from desert line even though there were plenty of donuts left over from the morning breakfast bar. Did make a second trip to the sweet tea dispenser though. Probably going to start mowing/mulching this afternoon. That'll take a couple days or so. Other outside work to do while the weather is so nice. Oldest grandson has ball games tonight and tomorrow. Both on the road, each over an hour away with 5:30P start times. Not sure yet if I'll make either.
November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post Monday? I must have misplaced a day somewhere. Took a ride this morning, now I need to figure out where to put this.

November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post Spent the day taking down the large 'Crafts of Colrain' signs. Now I have to put my (now clean) workshop back in order. We had a great show, sold a lot of product, and got a few new orders.
November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post ahem.....i do not recall being consulted on this development. had i been, i would have objected on the basis that it is sudden, arbitrary, capricious, unwarranted, repetitive, and wholly without redeeming merit. did i miss anything? got the rain barrels turned over and drained of water before it starts freezing hard. errands done today, need to get the car's oil changed tomorrow.

November 14, 20232 yr Popular Post Well it’s a good day here. Weather is a pleasant 75 degrees. It’s nice to work on the shop with all the doors open. I have completed all the doors downstairs and I’m taking a few weeks break before starting upstairs. It’s time to crank out some Christmas presents. Paul

November 14, 20232 yr Popular Post Weekend. Have to check my notes... Finished up the little vanity carcass, but no acceptable pics taken. Rest assured I will get one next week. DIL did not like the coloration of the birch ply doors, so the plan is to get some better BB ply in Columbus and cut new ones out. Did my part in support of the UGA win over Ole Miss Oh yeah, we got some rain on Saturday. First measurable rainfall in nearly a month. It did drop about half of the leaves from the red maples in the front yard. I raked up a good many of them yesterday. Today we will be packing up for our trip up to O-HI-O, or is that o-HI-o? Plans call for a drive to Atlanta tomorrow, help daughter with install of a new dryer and draw up some plans for a pantry re-do. Then Thursday & Friday on the road to Columbus. Be out of pocket for a couple of weeks. Y'all be good now, ya hear!

November 15, 20232 yr Popular Post Well, Home Depot has 3852 items on special for Black Friday-ish. If you want some Milwaukee, DeWalt, or Ryobi tools, they are 95% of the specials. Had to laugh, they had Packout boxes for a couple hundred bucks. Limit 30. I guess if you were a company with many trucks. On less cheery news, I'm headed for a hip replacement surgery Friday morning. Hoping it will put an end to the pain I've been having.

Prayers for you Keith as well as the medical team attending all goes well and your recovery is rapid and complete. A friend of ours who is about 9 years older than me just went through hip replacement a few weeks ago. Prior, she struggled getting around with a walker. Saw her last week at a ball game. She's about through with PT (and her cane). Walked up four rows of bleachers like it was nothing. Edited November 15, 20232 yr by Grandpadave52
November 15, 20232 yr Popular Post I join the others in hoping for a successful surgery and speedy recovery, Keith.
