Friday July 21st 2023-Whats on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again Folks! :D

Ever have one of those days where everything you touch turns to $#!t? <_<

That was me yesterday. :Tapping:

Came in from mowing next door after a couple of hours to take a break.

Tried turning on the wife's W10 Komputator only to have it show power on, but no boot menu or video. :WonderScratch:

So, messed with that for a couple of hours, and got nowhere. :PullingHair:

Decided to go finish mowing next door.

Wind decided to come up so of course I came back in after finishing covered with grass clippings looking like a "Scarecrow".

You wouldn't believe how much of that itchy, scratchy grass got inside my clothing.

So, go take a bath to get rid of the itchies. -_-

So, then this morning I pulled out the W11 Komputator to set it up.

But before I could do that the "STUPID TV" decided to play games, I think they did another software update.

Wife went to change antenna channel, and somehow the "Crazy Thing" went into PIP mode. The remote has no PIP function.

So spent about an hour going through the menus getting that back to "Abby Normal". <_<

Finally got this W11 Komputator hooked up, and of course it had to do a bunch of updates before it would let me use it. :Tapping:

I think it's going to take the wife a bit to get used to this.

:ChinScratch: So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

I think I'm going to go back to bed. :GoodNight:

No shop time, today. Wife has tickets to a movie called Sounds of Freedom. Then, we will eat out somewhere. Then, grocery shopping.  That about shoots most of the day. Still time for a little nap,  though.

Tomorrow will find me at the scroll saw. Nobody told me how addictive it can be. One of the upcoming projects will be some double beveled inlaid box lids. We'll see how that goes.

Pretty good storm passed thru here last night. Little cleanup to do. Cooled things off nicely today.

@Larry Buskirk did you try connecting an external monitor, maybe the display died.

:ChinScratch: Found out my phone must have had another "Software Update" sometime last night. <_< Had to do a "Reboot" before it would work. :BangingHead:

It's a desktop Lew, Checked monitor with another PC, it works fine but of course my W11 build uses HDMI, or Display Port. The monitor is VGA.

The W10 machine powers up, goes through checking the DVD Drive, but does not supply any video. I also tried another video card, and power supply. Same results.

Both the wife and I used the machine in the morning.

If it responds, I can't tell.

Weird! What happens if you pull all the peripherals, HDD, CD/DVD and memory? Any error beeps?

Any onboard video connector?

Did all of that, no error beeps. Onboard video also a no go.

All of the fans start/run when I power up.

Can't tell about the SSD, but the data HDD seems to run.

Strange that I can power up/down with the power button.

No error beeps without RAM? That is weird

It's definitely has me :WonderScratch:

Seems like it only goes so far through the boot process and just stops.

Guess we are gonna have to create a computer forum. :cowboy:

The leather for a commission I am working on came in yesterday so that is my main project today. Starting to build up inventory in the store for holiday sales.

Almost sounds like the bios chip has failed and it can't complete the POST. I guess tat chip is soldered in and can't be reseated.

Did you try another P/S?

That's what I was beginning to think, but I've never had one that would allow the system to partially boot and stay powered up.

I may try a re-solder, when I have more time to mess with it.

Yes, I did.

 I'm sure (hoping) she'll get used to it.

First Saturday of theater set construction for the October show, Finding Nemo.  Set manager wants a "wavy wall."   So I've made a cross-cut sled that I'll configure to the saw tomorrow to cut kerfs.

Spent some time the last few weeks doing rehab on the parsonage.  The old pastor was not happy to be assigned here and left the parsonage a mess.  Mouse droppings in basement and garage, dog damage and will clean, but might need to replace, the carpet due to dog urine and damage.  Smell is overwhelming terrible.  Woodwork damaged.  Ductwork filthy because they never changed the furnace filter in 3 yrs.  General cleaning all over.  Bay window had water damage due to leaking plants.  Had to fix two toilets that resulted in 13,000 gal usage last month.  Not his fault, but replacing the deck boards, re-routing sump pump discharge, fixing flashing on the roof that leaked and damaged drywall.  Replacing shower and sinks. Painting walls.   Revarnishing front door and some interior woodwork.  Ugh,
