May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Memorial Day Weekend Folks. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we've been riding a roller coaster as far as temperatures go. I spent yesterday cutting firewood for the wood-burning stove, still cleaning up winter/wind storm tree damage. If ( That's a big If ) I manage to get caught up to that, I've got about a half dozen or so seasoned in place trees to take down. For some reason I'm not as fast as I used to be, must be that getting thing. So I'll be out doing more of the above this weekend, "What's on Your weekend agenda"?
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Marie has some hospital stuff today, but the rest of the weekend will be loafing time. Got the rest of the garden planted Wednesday, the lawn mowed and ost of the weeds sprayed. So now we loaf! Edited May 26, 20233 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Got a little project going on the metal lathe. Figure out what's next after I'm done.
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Yesterday got a 12"X12"X3/4 piece of oak prepped for a Nativity scene puzzle to scroll saw. Today I'll attempt to cut it. If the result is worthy, tomorrow (or, today if I'm lucky) it'll get a finish. In which case, tomorrow will be a mystery until I remember what else I planned.

May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Picked up new batteries for both mowers yesterday. Need to get them installed so the mowing can continue. Also bought a new phone yesterday so need to get it up and running. Some HS graduation open houses to attend tomorrow. Church responsibilities Sunday; also I hear there's some big race near-by I may watch/listen to off and on. Monday, probably will grill out some plant based food (meat processing plant based.). Likely to compliment the potato salad and cole slaw.
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post I'll probably watch the Indy 500. Not much else I've been able to do lately. Had another mild stroke and my balance has gone haywire. Having to get a friend to install my window air conditioners. Feeling pretty useless these days. Thank god for friends !
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Got all the Dice Cups commission turned so now to get them engraved and apply finish. Got half the collars done on 10 friendship bowls. Gonna try to do a little dry brush work on them so there is carving in my future.
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Plan is to do as little as possible...even less IF they let me. Daughter is having a Cook-out at her place. Ran the Hedge trimmers for a bit...south side of the house was getting over-grown...could have cut more, but needed to get out the chainsaw.... One Yard Sale...$3 spent... longest one, counting the handle, is 6-1/2", Irwin Screwdrivers And a FREE handsaw, to boot.. Have a bill to go and pay, and other errands..
May 26, 20233 yr Author Popular Post Wanted to get another battery for the cordless chain-saw so I could have one on the charger while using the other. So I looked at the H-F email ads and saw they were giving a free 3AH battery ($54.99) with the purchase of their Pole Saw for $79.99. https://www.harborfreight.com/20v-cordless-pole-saw-tool-only-64996.html Basically $25.00 for the saw. I must say these little saws have impressed me. And as @Dadio would say "Go Harbor Freight".
May 26, 20233 yr Popular Post Celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary yesterday. Granddaughter's HS graduation ceremony Sunday afternoon, followed by a family cookout. If time to squeeze in between honeydoes on Saturday, will try to get some picture frames cut and assembled.
