May 27, 20233 yr Popular Post Lot going on above.... -Love that Paduak Bacon...kind of reminds me of Canarywood. -Congrats Keith, coming up on the Golden anniversary. Seems like there are fewer and fewer of those celebrated anymore. -Ron, looks like this year will be a complete race....enjoy! -Al, not much I can say...take care and know we are pulling for you to start feeling better. Someone here said it a few weeks ago: aging ain't for sissies.

No hippies, no streakers, no mud wrestling, no coolers the size of a chest freezer, no VW busses and saddest of all, no you can't burn your car then leave the remains. Ah, the good old days of Indy racing.
May 27, 20233 yr Spent this morning cleaning up and gluing together some 1/2" thick walnut boards salvaged from an old coffee table. Expecting walnut panels to show up early next week to be the tops for walnut versions of the oak pedestal table I made last week or so. The glued up boards will be for the legs. Later today I'll be applying cherry stain to the red oak pedestal table so it'll match other oak furniture I've made before. 4D
May 27, 20233 yr Popular Post Picked this up, this morning.. Price seemed about right... $20 for a 4hp Briggs & Stratton Pressure washer called "Speed Clean"...That joint in the wand had a small leak....easy to fix... A bit of fresh gas and full choke after a prime...fired right up. Hooked up the garden hose to it, and tried it out... . Only to see a high pressure spray coming from under the machine...as well as the nozzle... It wasn't coming from that connector...as it is before the water gets to the pump...so.. Seems to be spraying from right about here? Nozzle is kind of fancy... Hi-Low pressure settings...and with a twist, you can switch from Fan to stream sprays.. Will be looking for a rebuild kit for that pump..maybe needs a new gasket..just have to find the kit... Edited May 27, 20233 yr by steven newman
May 27, 20233 yr Nice find. Hopefully a kit will fix it and it's not a small crack in the pump housing from failure to be winterized. Check ereplacement for parts or at least the OEM kit number then do a "bay" search for the kit.

May 29, 20233 yr Popular Post Went on a road trip with some friends yesterday. Car show, barbecue, farm to feed some animals, and then ice creams. Car show was good, until my buddy told his wife she was older than the Mustang she was checking out. (It was a 66, she was older by 6 years, so am I.) Apparently that percolated for a bit, and by the time we got to the Smoke Haus it was a full inferno. Wife and I sat on the porch while they hashed things out to the point where we knew if we were staying or going. We stayed had lunch. The food was awesome. Paid to get into the farm, where we paid for grain, to feed their animals????? The ladies loved feeding the animals, and we got to separate my buddy and his wife for a bit. Then we hit the ice cream store on the way back. My sundae was great. Friends left almost immediately upon arrival at our place, not sure where their marriage is heading. Today wife woke up feeling lousy, I went to the Memorial Day remembrance at the cemetery where my parents are buried. My brother, his son, and one of the daughters, were there. Good to see them. My brother drove his 52 (?) hot rod, sounded nice. We went to the best pizza place in the world, Prince Pizza, on Route One in Saugus for lunch afterwards. Got home, found out my B-I-L had been brought to the emergency room, not sure of the issues, they were prepping him for surgery. They have an autistic son, 12 years old, who’s not doing well. Put his head through a sheetrock wall 3 days ago. I Joined the American Legion earlier this year, first meeting was May 5, I agreed to help them set up for the Memorial Day Parade, which was 6:00 this evening. I went there and helped, and am showing up tomorrow morning to finish. I was going to be in the parade with them tomorrow, but todays family emergency has me bowing out. They understood. Tomorrow after 8:30 is……….Well only the Lord knows. I hope everyone is staying safe this weekend.

A bit late, but wishing you and your wife a happy anniversary. 49 years has become a rarity these years. And congratulation for your granddaughter on her graduation.

Well, here's the graduating class of about 860 students. It was something as they announced every student's full name. Now this is in an area where about 1/3 of the class was (Asian) Indian and they had some really long and nearly unpronouncable names. In addition there were other Asian (Oriental, if that's not a slur), Arabic, African, and Hispanic. Overall, about 1/2 the class was non-European heritage.
May 29, 20233 yr Popular Post In odd moments, I've been working on a bunch of picture frames. I was down the last one when it worked out the last piece was about 8" too short. I had a bunch of stock that I'd ripped, rabbeted and rounded over the front edges. My rough estimate didn't work out. Then later, I realized that I was making one too many of the smallest size. So only six of them and not seven. Sanding, sanding, sanding.
