Friday February 3rd 2023-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks and here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's a cold one.

Starting today at -5° with a wind chill of -20° but we're supposed to make it to 8° around 4:00 PM. <_<

Sure will feel better tomorrow as the forecast calls for 37° Saturday, 39° Sunday, and 40's Monday through next Friday.

:throbbinghead:

Guess if I have to go out today, I'll have to look like "Mommy" dressed me. :(

:ChinScratch:Not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, depends how sloppy it gets when that almost foot of snow melts. <_<

So, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

I get the honor of escorting our oldest granddaughter at her college senior day ceremonies.  Her dad had to fix a paperwork snafu with her sister in Nashville so I get the honors.  No shop time this weekend.

Not sure what all that entails, but congrats Ron! :)

I have a busy enough weekend planned.  Raining lightly now but supposed to stop in a couple of hours and clear off.

Tomorrow AM I hit the road to deliver the completed chest on chest drawer unit for our daughter.  This replaces a wardrobe unit I made for her several years ago that I will bring back with me.   If I cannot find a home for that in short order I will cut it up for use in the cabinets which are next on my project list.  This first pic is an Ikea unit that served as a guide.

What we came up with is a bit narrower and a bit taller to fit the space she has.  Overall dimensions are 55" wide x 60" tall x 19" deep.  Apple ply with a satin lacquer finish.

It's loaded on the truck and ready to go.  That will be pretty much the day tomorrow.

Cabinets next up.  I got this group of headboards at a hotel liquidation center near here.

Over that last couple days I hauled each of them to the shop and cut out the center sections to give me materials for cabinet carcasses.  These cabinets will go in the upper attached garage when I get that project completed, once warm weather returns.  I am not sure what this material would be called, they are all particle board with both sides covered with wood veneer.  Most are 3/4", the smaller ones are 5/8" thick.  All these for about the cost of one sheet of 3/4" oak or birch ply.  I will spend a bit of time on Sunday sketching up plans for the cabinets that can utilize this stuff.

Stay warm my friends!

Supposedly the drywall guy will  be here to complete the laundry room tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it painted Sunday.

PT after lunch. Going with woodturners to a wildlife supper to display our stuff tonight. Rest of the weekend watching TV and chillin.

It's been a tough week. Funeral, celebration of life this afternoon. BIL to one our church deacons. Jerry, 72,  was a Navy (submarine) Vietnam era veteran.

Later this evening, visitation, then funeral tomorrow for a church member who succumbed to injuries from a house fire a little over a week ago. Thankfully, his wife managed to escape somehow with only minor injuries. Lonnie was 82; post Korea, Army veteran.

Sunday, Sunday school and church. Hopefully will get to attend my youngest grandsons basketball games later. Missed the past two Sundays. His team is undefeated so far this half of the season. Lead the league of 18 teams. They've only lost one game this season (16-1) dating back to the first two game series which began in November.

How's that going as well as over-all recovery?

Awesome Ron. Embrace the moment. Our oldest granddaughter also just started her final semester. They grow up so quickly.

Problem is relaxing and having RLS kick in so have to get up and move. PT gets a little rougher every time. Can get around better but not enough energy to do anything.

Prayers for you. It will get better. Makes me recall the words of both my therapists and my neurosurgeon..."face it Dave, you're not 26 anymore." Bedside manner was not their strong suits.

How about splitting the difference, we finally warmed up to 0°F.

Playing with insurance today.  Guy decided to turn left from the inside/right hand lane in front of me and I didn't get stopped even though I had my eye on him.  Minimal damage, air bags didn't deploy.  Just a nuisance.  Haven't been in an accident in 40 or 50 years.  My insurance tells me to handle it myself with his insurance unless I have problems.

Been wearing a jacket in the basement shop.  Cold coming off those block walls and I'm becoming a wuss.  Seems the older bones get cold easier or the meds I take are causing it.

Last shop day for theater build.  Manager thinks positively, but with only three of us there, going to be tough and I see a few evenings next week before move-in on the 11th.

Then I skip out early and teach a class at the beekeeping school on how to assemble hive parts.

Glad no injuries and damage is minimal. Vehicles can be fixed or replaced.

Yes and yes. Know fully how you feel. Only six more weeks of it thanks to that weather rat.
