I am thinking I'm doing pretty well this morning.

I did get the carb installed on Plymouth Duster and she cranked up and ran right :)

I did get the lawn all mowed and cleaned up following a pretty good rain :)

I did get a good start on the garage ceiling.  On the half I've tackled I have all the popcorn stripped off :)

Looking forward into the week, I will tackle the ceiling project today.  Most of the taped joints had failed, so I need to clean those up, re-tape and apply joint compound.  I picked up the mud yesterday... and I "might" have tweaked my back.  I was really feeling it last night, but feel almost normal this morning.  I'll know pretty quickly when I start working over my head how things might go.  I know I won't get the ceiling done this week, but if I can get the joints repaired, holes filled and a coat of oil base primer on it I will feel good about the progress.

Other stuff this week: transfer a few more pics to update the O-HI-O trip, mow the lawn again, dr. visits... the usual...

After receiving a much beefier router trim bit, whipping the Limbert table  legs in to shape is proceeding nicely.

Couple of road trips for me/us.

Hearing appointment at the VA. 5 years on these hearing aids so they will probably replace them.

Also, going to make a trip to the Lycoming County Veterans Park. They have a restored A-6 Intruder that flew with my old squadron.

A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an oak leaf that had been  pressed in between the pages."Mama, look what I found," the boy called out.

"What have you got there, dear?"

With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, "I think it's Adam's underwear!"

NOW IF THIS DIDN'T BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY,

GO BACK TO BED!!

Going out to lunch with a church group. Did not get a lot done this weekend and plans to do some outside work not looking great for this week, but maybe a little at a time

Got a few odds and ends done this weekend.  Still getting accustomed to new job.  Got diagnosed with Bicep Tendinitis.  Seems I may need to trim back a day off my work week.  Probably Wednesday to break up to week into two days at a time.  Mind is willing, body is not at all pleased with 5 days straight.  Pins in my arm have gone on strike...:D

Saturday, we went car shopping for the Mrs. for a new to her/us car. I'd been searching on-line for several weeks. Found below "locally" (stock image) a week ago but couldn't take a look until Saturday.. Didn't figure it would still be on the lot. Anyway, came home with it. CEL came on yesterday, P0306, #6 cylinder mis-fire.

Hoped it was just a spark plug or COP fail? Cleared code, but it returns in Pending eventually re-setting permanently. Little detective work, it has all new coils & plugs so IDK. Also Service Park Assist message displays (rear back-up sensors). Some more detective work; sensor 4 not "clicking" so I assume just a bad sensor?; So back to dealer this afternoon. It came with a warranty.

Spent most of the morning & part of afternoon today trying to figure out all the other bells & whistles. We may not be smart enough to drive this one:D. So far hardest part is programming the radio then figuring out how to find all those pre-sets.:P Next will be Blue-tooth for phones. Grandsons have been warned not to touch any of the buttons on the inside mirror.:o I will not be subscribing to On-Star or Sirrius.

First GM product I've owned in nearly 30 years (well except for youngest grand-daughters '02 Trailblazer now) and said I would never own one after GM dumped Pontiac.  Wife has had one old style Jeep Cherokee then Jeep GC's ever since. NEVER in my lifetime did I see me driving a Buick; Buick's were for old people. Wife said "do the math dear, You are an old people now." So far, we both like it...well except for that intermittent engine miss and not having it to drive.

In other news, a lot of shop time planned but will be mostly auto repair related; Oldest grand-daughter's rear shocks; she was gone all weekend; rear brakes on my truck...I was gone most of the week-end; time to get back to youngest grand-daughters A/C system. In between, mowing, weed-eating, limb clean-up still and oldest grandson has his first 6th grade football game this week. Naturally it's 55 minutes away.

Work safe, rest when needed and maybe even if not needed, wear proper PPE and always wash your hands after eating a glazed donut before petting the cat.

Last night I was out the gas station pumping gas when I hear my name called from another car. An enormous blob of flesh on sticks gets out and comes over to introduce herself. Seems it is ex-girlfriend of an old coworker from 20 years ago. As I am listening to her my mind is trying to process what realm she has been through as she looks closer to 90 than 45. I was snapped back to reality when she inquired about my old coworker.

You have a lot of thoughts go through your head in a short amount of time when pressed for an answer. My mind remembers that this crazy person thought it was hilarious when my coworker PROPOSED marriage and she answered with, “ummm, Nah.” Top that off with this was done in front of her entire family who all thought this was the BEST joke ever. Yeah, he didn't. He was humiliated.

Of course, my silence was just an invitation, she quickly reminded me he was a loser having given up on, “the best thing he ever had going for him.”

I suppose I could have told her the truth. But then I would probably get dragged down to her level of hell and get beaten to death with experience. I opted for, “I reckon so.” Thankfully the gas was done pumping and I was able to excuse myself and leave.

He is doing well, works for an investment firm, married a Ukrainian woman, has two kids, and nice house in Prague. Somehow, I doubt he has any deep sense of regret or loss.

Thanks, John.  I love that shot of the PEC blem rulers on the guitar. Got lucky mixing my usual ingredients. Indirect morning sunlight and dozens of pictures to get one in focus. I *believe* the guitar is a Westerly R.I. Guild D4, mid-1990s. They had a particularly good tone.

More images to follow. If they are not on my blog, I set copyright to The Patriot Forum. So when TPF is a household word, I can feel part of the ingredients in perpetuity. :cowboy:

Yesterday I did, for the first time in my life, refinished the top of a cast iron table saw table. 0000 steel then a 320 sanding block, then 0000 again. SC Johnson Paste Wax. Wow, it is as slick as a shuffleboard table. The wood nearly fed itself. Do I want to go deeper into the cast iron, get it down to factory-new color? Or are the discolorations in the pores of the iron?

Next porch (the porch is predictably pitched towards the front) cutting session I'm definitely leveling the table before cutting.
