July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Friday already? Not sure what to think of that. Been pretty HOT/HUMID here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I spent yesterday reloading/upgrading a Dell W8Pro computer to W10Pro that the neighbor found "Curb Shopping" a little while back. Neighbor doesn't do computers so,... I took it over and gave it back to him to which he replied "What the **** am I supposed to do with it?" I replied, "Use it." He replied, "I don't know how to use it." I replied "Time to drag you into the 21st Century." He replied "What if I break it?" I smiled and said "No problem, and held up the two USB flash drives with the Operating Systems ISO Images." Can't wait to see the look on his face when I set it up for him Monday, and he sees a photo of his place as the desktop background. So,...What's On Your Weekend Agenda?
July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Controlling ADD ain't easy. Spent yesterday flitting back and, forth between working on the scroll saw work station and, preparing Limbert table leg panels for the band saw. This morning, I resolved to not even think about the scroll saw and, to get those 12 table legs sawn out and, pattern routered. Further resolved to stay at it till done! We'll see how that goes. I'm guessing that will take all of today plus the weekend and likely, spill over into next week. In my 81 years, staying focused...and organized... has been an ongoing chore. You should see my sock drawer. Multiply that mess by 100 and, that's my shop. At least I know where MOST of my pencils are. Edited July 22, 20223 yr by Gene Howe
July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post That's a wonderfully neighborly gesture Larry! He'll be thrilled. We are heading to the beach today and we are taking our 9 month old German Shepherd with us. This'll be the first time she's seen the ocean. She loves water so this will be very interesting! Tomorrow I'll be in the ol shop. Have a wonderful weekend y'all!
July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post No shop time lately. Been doing some long overdue refreshing on the MG. Rear suspension, new battery cables with a cut off switch, and now cleaning up and replacing the brake master cylinder. Brake bleeding is frustrating. And I've learned that brake fluid is an excellent paint remover! Hopefully the POR 15 will help. Mother's list includes a cutting board with juice groove. I have some maple, walnut and cherry ready to go. I'll be back for some pointers. Looks like it's hot all over, so stay cool and hydrate!

He asked "Why? My phones supposed to do internet but I can't work that either." Told him "The internets a lot easier to do on the computer." I've seen him try to use the older (W7?) laptop that the girls have, and I think he'd be better off using a trackball than a mouse.
July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Grass, weed mowing on tap today after some final work on front mount. After nearly a year, lots of frustration, I finally found the right combo to get it running well including idling again. Long journey. However it did flip the new deck belt so another challenge to unravel. Grandsons spending the night again. Both girls working OT tomorrow. Heat + humidity this weekend will throttle most outside activities. Whatever all, y'all are doing be safe. Think twice before cutting once. With heat and humidity across the country, rest often and stay hydrated.

July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Starting the theater set for SpongeBob tomorrow. Lumber run this afternoon and a load of barrels to deliver. A friend wants me to help him make (or maybe just make) a base and post for a front yard wishing well.
July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Parts is parts... A lid, 2 sides, and a piece for the 2 ends...cardio for today? All needed planed flat, first.. Getting there...

July 22, 20223 yr Popular Post Its going to be a busy weekend around here. I have accumulated the requisite hand tools for the next phase of workbench construction so I am going to try to finish the legs up this weekend and see how far I get Other than that I plan on doing some landscaping which involves sweeping rocks back into their respective areas and off the concrete walkways, killing a particularly resilient black widow nest, and fixing a couple of irrigation points. Should be a fun and relaxing weekend.
July 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Steve, Is this going to be "project" #2 for July or did I loose count?
July 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Moderately busy. AppleCare replacement of my phone. In short left on top of car while going about 40 mph it went flying off and down a bank. Handeled quite well only scratched a corner, but now the ear speaker won’t work. Try to finalize vacation plans (kids, grandson oh and wife) Fly to Boston. Do Patriot trail and tour Fenway. (Btw I am working in BOS this week) Drive up to Maine Acadia NP for a couple of hikes. Swing by Lobster fest (anyone ever been?). Drive south for crab cakes in Baltimore. Head to Colonial Williamsburg. Then home.
July 23, 20223 yr Popular Post Gonna be super hot and humid this weekend. I've finally had enough of my undergarment laundry bucket not holding all 40 pairs of my undergarments. Carried the spruce top of a curb find out of the basement and begin laying out cuts. Cylindrical Vessel No. 4 will be 12 x 14 or maybe a little wider. But first I'll hit two farm markets, lay my boxes out at the second on a limestone wall by a shady entrance, hustle up a few bucks.
