Friday again folks. :D

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we're doing the every other day :BlackCloud:thingy which leads to the every other day allergy thingy.

:ChinScratch: Next week sounds like a real blast with adding 90° days to the mix with of course high humidity added for that extra kick. :Hot:

Might try updating the megabyte toaster to W11, on one of those 90° days.

Waited for those required TPM modules to come down to a more realistick price.

Got one for about 1/4 the price they were going for a few months ago.

So if things go right I'll keep from :PullingHair: if not I might end up looking like,...

Wrap up the second of three door replacement projects. Little painting, install blinds, put away tools, find lost drill bit.

Mowing today (maybe) if it's dried out enough. Over the last 2 days I was able to spend a few hours at the range with some rifles I haven't fired yet, even though I've had them a few years. One was driving tacks with 6 different handloads I had concocted. If I get some time this weekend I'll load up a box or 2 or rounds for it to keep on hand for any ground hogs that may show up.

Have a few more things to do to prepare for a picnic here tomorrow with my siblings.  We haven't all been together since Christmas so looking forward to it.  The weather even looks to be cooperating.  Signed a contract to get a new shingles on the roof.  Bought plenty of cars that were cheaper than this.  Three times the cost when it was done 25 years ago.

Hope it goes smoothly. Just updated my Outlook software so it would play nicely with Gmail.

We have that coming up soon. Have had to replace a couple of shingles already. We are seriously considering a metal roof. I'm seeing a lot of those in this area and every owner I've talked to seems happy. Should be the last one I ever have to deal with...

Hoping to get back to a couple of lathe projects after cleaning up from the community theater project.

Hint: pretty sure it will be in the last place you look. I always find mine there.;)

Back condition has improved,, but still not "normal" compared to a week ago today. Work progressing on granddaughter's car. With good fortune, should be back on the road this weekend. Meantime, I'll take her to employment services orientation this afternoon. She starts her summer job Tuesday. She'll help me with errands after.

Yard past due for a trim job, mowers & truck past due for an oil change /service, garage past due for major cleaning, weeds past due for eating, fence rows past due for mowing, along with a long list of projects past due for completion so if you need me, I'll be in my recliner.

Whatever all y'all will be doing, stay safe, keep hands & fingers away from sharp spinny things, wear appropriate PPE and most important see if you can find those operators manuals you tossed when you opened the box.

I don't think I will outlast this roof so the metal roof isn't necessary.  I wonder now though whether the metal roof may be the same cost as shingles but I bet it is up in price too.  I weigh my longevity against my purchases these days.

Had to go to Dr yesterday and got two shots in my a$$. Feeling better but sure not sparking on all cylinders. Got some stuff ready to go to son's new storage house on his property this morning. We just barely beat the rain storm . Though this one was going to blow the roof off. Then after lunch packed up for a show at the AG Museum tomorrow. Hope it goes well.

Hope it's going well so far. Being busy is a good thing in your business. At least you're close to home now.

@Gunny  Wish you the best in your new job !

Working on a prototype tipping table design.  Trying to use up scraps for the parts.  Just glued up two 5" wide strips of oak veneered plywood to make a 10" x 24" piece I can CNC cut one side of the table base from. I already have the other side and top and stretchers cut out.  The design intent is to have a table that you could tip a few inches one way or the other but the top would stay level. I'll finish this prototype, but already have an updated improved idea that means another prototype is inevitable.

This weekend has started off busy.  The wife and I took a lap around the plant stores and garden centers of Southern Nevada to get ideas for what is going in the new planter bed.  Which reminds me… I should mention the new planter bed.  We are digging out the entire area in between the wall and the RV pad (about 6’ x 60’) then we will have the masonry guy come in and build the planter ~18” high.  Then I will just have to run the irrigation and fill it with dirt.  Hopefully we can get the masonry part knocked out this week while I am away on business :)

Along with our trip to the plant stores, I took the opportunity to pick up some parallel clamps, because you can never ever have too many of those.

On the short list for this weekend is finishing up an adjustable dual edge guide jig for the plunge router to make mortising operations easier and more accurate.  That will be really useful on the new workbench build and the remaining patio furniture so it has a high priority.

Tomorrow is a half day track day so I am looking forward to burning some gas and putting some wear on the tires!!

All in all, things are shaping up to be a pretty decent weekend.

Got home from IL, last night around 18:00. It was a hair over 1600 miles. Two very long days of driving. Sure is great to be home. Even if it is 107° in the shade.

The DeWalt scroll saw and stand (one reason for the trip) is in the shop. Need to assemble the stand. A job for later.

After some piddling in the shop...setting up the swamp cooler, I'm gonna take the rest of the day off. I'm still recuperating from that napless two days of driving. Got some catching up to do.

You have some stamina Gene! I'm fairly certain I couldn't do that in 2 days, and still walk, or move, or breathe, or anything else.
