    I love the look, but am wary about wrapping solid wood with a mitered frame.  Brings back sad memories of a chess board I made in college.  Solid wood walnut and pecan 8x8 grid wrapped with a mitered walnut frame.  Literally blew up when the basement of the townhouse I was living in flooded and humidity in the house rose to 95% or so. One of only a few past projects I've made that self destructed/failed.
