March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post I almost forgot it's Friday! Just feeling a little slower here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" after completing another revolution around the Sun. Wish it would show itself, but the "Weather People" say not today. Had a couple of rather nice days 71° Weds, 69° yesterday. Today, and tomorrow? ... ... YUCK! So, ... What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Relatives are leaving tomorrow so maybe get back to the shop. Working on that wooden piece for a buddy's AK. Made it from soft wood to get a feel for the correct steps when drilling/cutting/fitting. Working with tiger maple will be a bit slower.
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Getting ready for woodturning demo tomorrow. Had a doctor appointment this morning and trying a different approach , more later . Turned a bowl yesterday , now to finish bottom and rim. Still working on handles for my store.
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Gerald wish I could see the demo. Got in from my job on site in Pa last night. Heading to Jacksonville Fl to watch daughter play down there. Back Sunday night, then off to Jackson, Ms for work. LOL Maybe one day I will be able to get my hands dirty again. Anyone know where I can get either Olive wood or Acacia 6/4? I need 13x15 or so for a project. Everyone have a safe trip.
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Laid in a supply of lumber, yesterday....letting it get used to the place.. 11 boards, 1 x 6 Ash. about 26 bft. Paid $30 for this "bundle" Might see about filling in a space... With drawers, that open from the side of this stand...opening is too narrow out in front. Whether to just use runners, or build a chest...we'll see. 67 partly cloudy degrees outside....Road Trip to pick up one of the GrandBRATS...
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Planing a bunch of walnut for Limbert tables. My supply is dwindling fast. I might get them done by Sunday. Then it's time to true the edges. Looks like next week for the glue ups.
March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Beth and I are in Dawsonville, Ga to shoot in a GSSF match this weekend and work as RO’s for the match. We arrived in the midst of a storm so no shooting till tomorrow. Going to make for a long day. But hey, shooting guns all day is fun! spent all week getting ammo loaded and guns ready to leave early this morning. This starts our season. We’ll shoot and work about 7 matches this year.

March 18, 20224 yr Popular Post Still trying to recover from last 2 days. Replacing truck plug coils didn't go well.Well one didn't anyway. I'll do a thread in FREE For All. I was able to get a couple other small projects done. Just being outside felt good.. It's been a LONG winter. Good news, Ex-SIL parents bringing youngest grand-daughter home. They live < hour from campus. Not sure I could have made 5 hr round trip well in one day. Wedding tomorrow; church Sunday. Been raining here since before NOON, so been watching some March Madness games. IU embarrassed themselves yesterday. Purdue won. If you're a Kentucky Wildcats fan...SORRY Edited March 18, 20224 yr by Grandpadave52 Tablet can't spell yet

March 19, 20224 yr Well the pain in my gut got bad enough this week, I went to the Docs. He sent me across the parking lot to the Emergency room. After a 5 hour visit, it appears I have Diverticulitis. It appears that becoming an old fogey has hit me hard. Antibiotics for a while and I guess I’m, now on stool softeners. So my plans for this weekend mostly involve sitting.
