January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Half of January gone already. Time sure flies when you're not having fun. Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it's been one of those weeks. We managed to get the what turned out to be about 40' of condensate return lines replaced after jack-hammering our way through basically six concrete/ concrete block walls only to have that little creep yhpruM show up during the test phase of the return lines. The little creep figured he'd throw us another curve by dropping the bottom out of the condensate tank. ...... I'm a gonna get you yhpruM, I'm a gonna get you. So while spending most of yesterday playing phone tag to find a replacement condenensate tank, which we found where one is located at a "Wholesale Distributor" (Can't pay them direct have to go through a "Retail Distributor") and finally getting the "Retail Distributor" to understand that the "Wholesale Distributor" will allow us to go pick it up once the "Retail Distributor" accepts payment. (It's about 50 miles from us.) The "Retail Distributor" is normally "Ship to customer only No Pick-Ups". The neighbor will be picking up the replacement this morning. Since the building was going on it's third day without heat, it was getting a bit cool in there. We had successfully used Band-Aids on the pipes we replaced for a few days before we replaced them we decided to see if we couldn't get something to work good enough to get some heat into the building. Sand tubes, nope not gonna work. Bicycle Inner Tube...fold up stuff under hole and inflate It Works! So I'm going over to baby sit the boiler while the neighbor makes the parts run. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Some glue up today on a project, that after I get some errands run. Looks like it is going into a cool down with Sunday being in the 40's with rain. Good time to stay inside and start doing paperwork catch up.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Last couple of afternoons was able to accomplish a few small projects outside. Quite tolerable for mid January and really nice to be outside in fresh air for a while. I may make an other attempt to visit R-K today and a couple more errands in the Emerald City. Last trip was aborted due to unexpected "chip error deactivation". I'll do a post about that in Free for All. Last half of swim season resumes Saturday for youngest granddaughter. It is a home meet, but I won't be traveling cross state; I'll follow on-line. Church Sunday. In between, I see Motor Trend channel is airing Mecum Auto Auction from Kissimmee, FL, so I'll hit/miss/drool watching some of it.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Grand kids are all young adults now. I have been making Christmas ornaments for over a dozen years and they were too young to appreciate them. They are old enough now so I decided to make them each a complete set. Been tough remembering the best way to mount and turn each one but I'm getting there.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post I see FEMA just posted a winter storm warning for our area for Sunday thru Monday. Maybe I should get gas for the snow blower. Been working with my laser engraver, trying different software. Working on sizing and orientation. Edited January 14, 20224 yr by lew
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Making 6 drawers for son's vanity. Then, since the dado will be set for the drawers, might as well start on the paneled doors. Somewhere along the line, I need to take a nap. Got up too early and it's starting to get sleepy out.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Some nursing duties, doctor appointment, pick up grandson from high school and hope to turn a couple of cherry handles for pizza cutters and ice cream scoop. Tomorrow is all day rain the cold again on Sunday with more cold north wind. I may just get out and mow. That will be about a 45 minute job. Getting too old for the cold.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post To my surprise I am more in demand than I thought. Have 6 interviews for Wednesday. One has been texting me all day with a barrage of questions.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Really glad to hear that Gunny, best of luck with the interviews. As for me, I ordered a cap for my truck last Sept. (!) and the dealer called to let me know it's in. Ihave a 3P appointment to get it installed.

An experienced Automotive tech with credentials, good work history, can/will show up to work on time-EVERY DAY, military experience + Marine...all would have got you in the door for first interview with me in my old life 13 years ago as a Recruiter/interviewer...and that was a time when we had several dozens of resumes for few openings. Take your time...choose what's best for YOU and the missus.

Told him I have this special tool for those nightmare vehicles. Bet he spewed coffee across monitor when he saw this picture.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Just checking in. Still not getting around very well so not much shop type work going on. Appt with ortho surgeon next week. Have been busy on the J.O.B. 2022 starting out at a frantic pace. Putting the VXRail into production next week. This thing is a Supercharged Ferrari can't wait to put it to work.... 3.77 TFLOPS, 160000 IOPS, and less than 2ms latency. I've got plumbers on the place today. Broken and leaking sewer pipe under the house. More than happy to hire a young skinny lad to crawl under there and fix it. .40
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post just have to take the tree down, and we are undecorated until December.
January 14, 20224 yr Popular Post Nothing for this weekend as trying to get over Covid. Glad I had the shots. Kinda like a light flu but no energy to get going much with out a break so been on computer. Gonna have to miss the first woodturners meeting of the year tomorrow. Had hoped to try out a new camera I just got in for the club that will follow a person as he moves. Oh well there is next month . Doing better today.

Prayers for a rapid recovery, minimal additional symptoms. My wife went through the same a a few weeks ago. She slept more than the cats for over a week. Took her over 2 weeks to get back on her feet.

January 15, 20224 yr Havea 12 volt question. If running inside the wall when I transit out what type of electrical box do I use? Same as with 110 volt? I currently have a portion of the wall open to run another receptacle for a light. Since I am here figured I might as well run the 12 volt wire for the spot light as well. I have just enough space to squeeze a 3 gang box in the wall. One for tool receptacle, one for light receptacle and possibly if needed one for a 12 volt port. Any ideas?? Maybe @Artie
