December 28, 20214 yr Popular Post Beautiful weapon @Grandpadave52 used quite often before they phased them out in favor of 9mm. I liked that when you hit enemy, that was it, down and out of the fight.

I liked that when you hit enemy, that was it, down and out of the fight. Thanks Gunny. I've "drooled" over owning one for several years. Nearly bought a 9mm look-a-like a few months back but just didn't want to let go of the cash even for it. Daughter's fiancee is a County Jail Officer; Mrs. went to him for the expertise. Most of our County Officers use 9mm though since they are required to purchase their own weapons. And yes, for home protection/invasion/travel that's the intent. I won't be aiming for their knee.
December 28, 20214 yr Popular Post @Dab, you and your wife are in our prayers. Praying for a complete remission.
December 28, 20214 yr Popular Post @DAB Prayers out for you, your wife and all affected. @Grandpadave52 - Nice present! I guess you are not into that whole re-gifting thing this year, my brother...

December 28, 20214 yr Popular Post As I mentioned in another text I got a wifi enabled picture frame that allows others to remotely download pictures and videos which means I will get more pictures of the grandkids. My wife won me a rifle in an auction to benefit veterans. Its a commemorative Henry 45-70 lever action. I won't see it for several months apparently. It involves some engraving that they said could take up to six months 😡 Paul
December 28, 20214 yr Popular Post @DAB Prayers for your wife's successful treatment. @Grandpadave52 Well you do need to teach her that brass is the best. I sprung for a Ruger a couple years ago because my son used his discount at work Ok got a Sig P320 Rx also and love both . However he claims the Ruger and keeps it in his room. Now you have to schedule some range time after the chauffeur job ends. @Masonsailor That sound like one worth waiting for and at a good price too. I might get something tonight it as yet remains to be seen, could yet be a hunk of coal.

Daughter sent home a late present yesterday of Czech manufactured brass bought local. Rural King had plenty of Remington, 45ACP, 100 rounds for $55.10. This could get expensive compared to 22LR. Still waffling on what I want vs afford on 9mm. Closest indoor range is 45 minutes from here. You almost have to book time in advance they're so busy. Another about an hour away close to Indy that is very nice. Through daughter's fiancée I have access to the Sheriff Departments outdoor range however when ur tongue sticks to the barrel, it's too cold for me.

It will almost too beautiful to shoot...but it is a Henry so maybe a few rounds just to sight it in will OK?
December 29, 20214 yr Popular Post No I will shoot it. Owning a gun and not shooting it is not something I do. But it being a 45-70 definitely limits what I will use it for. I go home to Helena twice a year to hunt and will definitely take it with me. There are a couple up on the home ranch that are very old but are still good saddle guns for bear. Paul
