It's Monday and it seems everyone has gone crazy locally. This morning two men were shot, one killed near a shopping mall about a mile and a half from me. Helicopters hovering around most of the day.Now more helicopters flying around. A high speed chase thru town roads. Helicopters are now hovering so I'm guessing they have stopped the vehicle. Seems the city is moving in. weird day

Update: the car crashed in town but the suspect is still at large. Apparently robbed the pharmacy in the town center. People along RT ! in town are notified to lock doors. That includes me.

Monday!  Do we always have to have one?

Took the van to the body shop this morning, hassled through that, rented a car.  Strange car, no keys.  And, too many gadgets.

Purchased rope for locomotive toy and paid all the monthly bills.  Including this year's property taxes.  Christmas club paid out at the time the property and house insurance are due.  Painless way to pay, deposit each month into Christmas club and they pay me interest for that.

Started work on DIL's rosary box.  Will be solid cedar except the bottom will be masonite.

I am thinking sometime in the thirties. Had 3 colors of paint; blue then pink and finally white.

It's not just your area Al. Things have been crazy/nutz around here for the past 1 1/2 years.

Probably going to get a lot crazier with what's going on in Kenosha now. <_<

Well, that was interesting. :ChinScratch:

Had one of those semi dump trucks come by with his bed raised, and took out our power lines accross 4 lanes of state highway. :(

At least they caught the guy, who's trying to say the bed raised itself. <_< Still had one set of lines tangled on the dump bed.

Called it in at 9:22 AM and got power back at 12:45 PM, those We Energies guys are fast.

:ChinScratch: Wonder what the guys boss has got to say about the 3 sets of power lines they're going to be billed for.

Something like "You're fired" I suspect.

:ChinScratch: Might have been, they sent another truck with another driver to get the truck, & trailer.

Of course being it happened on a "State Highway" the State Patrol got involved.

Had to close off the highway 3 times while they put the lines back up.

Yep.  When I graduated HS, I worked for the state highway department a couple of summers doing expressway construction projects.  One day an earthmover crossed between the "borrow pit" (where they dig out soil) to the overpass where they will filling it and had his arm on the gate up and took out a wire.   I drove the state truck up to the intersection to stop thru traffic.   A lot of people were really pissed because it was a Saturday morning and they had to drive an extra mile to get to the golf course.

And last night the theater set is coming together.  A few large pieces are off to the side and get rolled out for their scenes.  The big platform is an 8x12 oval and up 6'.   The tree gets a few more what we are calling "puffy things" tonight when the paint is dry.  Getting the ring, 6' in diameter, with extra pop out in back for clearance was the biggest pain.   We ran out of budget and plywood, so we had to use some scrap Masonite, ugh, I hate that stuff.  What's worse, we had to get it together in the shop, then take it apart to get it on the truck, then someone in between had put it back together wrong.

Offstage are 2 "circus  McGurgus" rolling cages, 4'x8'x8', an 8' tall "judges platform" (seen below)  and a 4x8 bathtub scene.

We do our best to keep things safe for the 55 actors from 1st to 12th graders.   The girl in the yellow dress (stage left) is one off my granddaughters.

That's a beautiful set up for those youngsters, Keith.

Really is nicely done, you have to have a sense of pride over the set and the participants!

Nice box Bandit. Really nice grain on the lid. I'll have to look up the build thread. Still lots of catching up to do.
