August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Morning to ya! Get anything done over the past weekend? Need to make Mondays a National Holiday.....then we can all just sleep in until Tuesday..
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Got our daughter moved over the weekend, and brought back a few surplus items that will find their way to facebook/craigslist. Delivered the coffee table that I had made last month too. This week has a bunch of lawn duty; brake job for BIL, and start to work on a stand up desk modification for daughter. Going to be busy.
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Too hot today and the rest of the week to do anything outside. I do have an OH door opener to install in the shop storage room, may give that some thought.
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Finally getting a cool enough day to work on the Pilot and of course it's got to
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Busy week. Errands and such. No shop work till at least Thursday. Ordered a 8 inch sewer cover for a project next week outside in yard. Not much woodworking, unless some framing for a concrete form counts.
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Got a little walnut bowl sanded, waiting on a new type of finish to arrive to complete it. Have a couple of box elder bowl blanks in the "drier" that are getting close to being ready to turn.
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Pulled a muscle in my arm on Friday trying throw a pallet over the fence so the rest of the weekend was spent bush hogging an overgrown pasture by the pond. Now, I have about two acres of Bahia grass hay to sweep and pile up. Hopefully the goats and chickens will appreciate it.

August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Son and family came by on Sunday. Nothing doing in the shop. DIL offered me a Kitchen full of cabinets that were removed from their kitchen and stored in their shed. I've not seen them but they were original to the house and were replaced some years ago The house was built in 1947. I'm guessing the cabinets are solid wood. If they're decent, they'll save me some time (and $$) for shop cabinets. Phyl and I spent this AM moving a bunch of 12' 2X4s, 6s, and, 10s from outside, tarped storage into the 20X20 awning covered area off the shop. Most of my shop tools were stored there until we moved them into the shop, Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to find, under that tarp, 6 large live edge walnut slabs about 6' by 3' by a full 4/4. As of now, I may have enough hardwoods and construction lumber to last me for the rest of my days. We're both pooped and, we're calling it a day. Shop organization resumes tomorrow. Wednesday, we may be hauling cabinets back from Tucson.
August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post If those cabinets are solid wood, even if they aren't usable as cabinets, they may be useful as reclaimed wood.

August 9, 20214 yr Popular Post Hey I have used the Redneck fix but not on car door. Got some chainsaw work done at my son's property Saturday AM. The in the afternoon I cut that palm tree up and learned something about the "bark". It peals in layers and looks like burlap. Gotta remember to take pics. This week I hired someone to remove the last hedges we are removing. I plan now to clear the vegetation left and haul in some topsoil before sod. All this and I am having lathe withdrawal, because I still have to complete the holder and mount the Ring floodlight camera. Does it never end!!!!!!
