Dig a hole on each side and drive a pipe larger than the air connection (with one end plugged) under the walk. Then run air line in pipe.

Thanks, was my plan.  One side I have to dig a trench so that is side I will bang the 1 1/4 pipe through.  In theory this should be simple, how that holds up to real life application only time and some sweat will tell.

Piano > bookcase off project, a memory box for the family that donated the piano.   She said it was her mother's from childhood, ca. 1932.  Made from sections of the keyboard cover (with logo) and the music stand.  Will deliver later today.

Fine gesture.  Kudos .  Great looking box and incorporating the logo into it pushes it over the top.

Well I had to wait for daughter's family to get back in town, now we have to wait for help to get the bookcase up the steps.  Besides being heavy, it's very awkward.

This is the new look. Still thinking about cutting that clean out much shorter. A friend has one sticking up like this too. The plumber who did this house was an idiot and I heard he was run out of county later.

Had a two egg sandwich with Gouda cheese at 04:30. Thought that would give me enough energy to make it to noon. Almost made it. Been trimming pallet boards for the stud wall. Two rip cuts per board. First one on a carrier to get 1SE then, one on the opposite side to get uniform widths. Get a bunch done then, switch to the mite saw to get square ends. Think I got about 40 or 50 done before I just totally pooped out at about 11:00. After lunch and an obligatory siesta, I MAY venture back out there. Then, again,?.?.? Us old guys have learned that manana is sometime good enough.

One more section of the front wall to paint.  Now designing a fence to keep neighbor off the lawn.  She likes to walk over here on my property even though it is clearly marked.  Trash, tools, mowing is going to stop with the fence.  Then  will start on trimming the house.  In the meantime, will get some shop time while some things set.

Folks, with all these heat warnings and severe heat warnings, please be careful to keep cool and stay well hydrated.  If your urine is not near clear, you need to drink more.

Hey guys this is not hear say I 'm talking about when using PVC sch 40. This has been with me in all my building things in three different towns since about 1960 something but the weather has mostly all been the same. And we have had three different cabins on 3 different lakes using pvc sch 40

We moved here is the middle of 1998 and by 1999 had moved the dock from across the lake to this lot and the first thing I did was drop a submergible pump off the side of the dock and ran PVC on both sides of the walkway to the pump and the other small pvc is going to the electrical lift and lights.  I know this area of Texas is probably not as hot as where you all live but today its 98 right now and this is what we deal with all summer long.

Gene you said you get very short time using PVC but I have been talking about burried pipe in the past but none of this pipe in these pictures840335792_IMG_20210731_190513348PVCoutintheopensince1999.jpg.864fe03683b00bd77506f06eb87303c7.jpg1442563665_IMG_20210731_190540747anothershotofPVCoutintheopensince1999.jpg.b8007b043f02f60330f20825a13b4e27.jpg1335372606_IMG_20210731_190631340morepvcoutintheopennotcoveredupsince1999.jpg.32d251ee423703bb54b9701d047b985e.jpg has ever given me any problems and has always been out in the open..The crook on this side of the large tank was to the first little pressure tank. It rusted out so I then took the 250 gallon or larger propane tank from the other lot to use for a pressure tank and I just left the crook in the 1 1/4" pipe and went from there hooking up the water lines. I do cut the pump off in the winter and drain the water out but hey its still out in the open.....

I ran 1 1/2" pvc sch 40 under the entire 4 acres of the go-cart track and the mini golf is sitting on and I installed it before 1984 for that is when we open the track and I talk to the guy who bought me out often and he says all the under ground pvc have never needed any repair.

So this seems real strange I hear all kinds of weird tales from the Patriot Wood workers crew.

The pvc I installed under ground here on the 1 acre I use for air lines anytime I come out of the ground with the pipe I change over to 3/4"galvanized pipe on all the ends going under and coming out also and there is a quick coupler on all those pipes

I learned a lot while building the amusement thingy and that was to be prepared in all areas of that 4 acres. I had three water wells and they were all connected together. One compressor supplied 4 building and they were on all corners of the 4 acres...and yep I used PVC sch 40 every where.

I did hear people would put a coat of paint on their pvc if it was about ground but I never got around to it....

I've never had a problem with PVC for water. I'm not brave enough to try it for compressed air, though. When I get the lines run in the shop, some will be at eye level above a carving bench. Not taking any chances.

It's Sunday. We're taking a break from the shop, today. Well, at least until I get the mud off and out our vehicles and, some honey do jobs done. We've almost completed the pallet board trimming and, we're getting anxious to get them nailed up. That will be the last of the tin can work and, we can officially call it a woodworking shop and, we can get the rest of the tools moved, from on site storage, into the shop. It's been a longer than anticipated job but, the end of that phase is in sight. September will mark one year since we moved in at this place. The work on the house is complete (mostly) and, by the end of September of this year, the shop will be done (mostly). It's been a long but, fun ride.

Replaced timing belt and water pump on PT Cruiser last night.  Took 2 1/2 hours but the old girl is back on the road again.  Good for another 100K.

Ordered Aisin TB/WP kit for Pilot. <_<

If I do this thing many more times I'll be down to 2 1/2 hours. :Tapping:

Code prohibition on use of plastic pipe with compressed air is based on failure mode of the plastic:  it shatters, like shrapnel.  Plastic piping will hold pressure, but if it's in general use, sooner or later somewhere/sometime a pipe bursts and Code Authorities don't want the hassle.  Plastic materials can also be weakened by chemical exposures, including things that you drip on the outside of the pipe that you might not think a problem (there's a website that has a lot of "don'ts" as to such exposures).  Plastic is usually pretty vulnerable to sunlight (UV), but it can take a few years*, and almost anything will protect the pipe, including dust/dirt/mud, even water.  Easy protection:  coat of paint, and you actually only need coat the top of the pipe.  Thing to watch with plastics:  air will leak out of smaller holes than will water, and most plastic pipe systems are designed around water content.  If you want best safety, simply look up the pipe manufacturer application guidelines.

*But sometimes a few months.  We installed some plastic pipe leftover from a prior project, but hadn't protected it properly (stored outside).  Cost a quarter mil to replace the dang stuff (inside walls of a lab).  Very surprising finding once we looked into it:  pipe mfr genrally limits time from manufacture to installation (a few months).  After that, technically, no warranty.  Once you get into it, you find an amazing variety of pipe materials and additives and layers; even the resin source can be important.
