June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post Hey, what happened to May? Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we're headed for our first 90° day. It's been a rather strange ride weather wise, we're either 20° below or above our average normal temperatures. So before the heat sets in I'll be making a "Bone Yard" run for a few small parts to replace what mice half ate. At least they left the wiring harness's alone, but I can't imagine that foam rubber tasting good. So, What's on your weekend agenda?
June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post Building walls in the shop. Almost got the back wall/lumber rack ready to stand up. Just another 40', or so to go. Sure glad there was plenty of lumber left from the patio build. Might have to rip a couple 2X6s, though. No sheeting left over, though. That's gonna get 'spensive!.
June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post If weather hold have a yard project to get started. If not, more work on drawer organizers.
June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post It's been an incredibly busy week at the J.O.B. with no end in sight. Several major projects in the queue...install and configure vXrail systems in two US data centers, upgrade vMware infrastructure in all US offices, and a couple of new infrastructure software projects for Azure thrown in for good measure. My home networking gear got zapped in the storms here last Thursday. Ordered new gear and will have to spend the better part of Saturday configuring it. This will make Mrs. Boss and the boy happy so they can FacePage, stream, and Tweet again. Ordered some bowl gouges from D-Way tools and need to find some time to glue up some stock and try my hand at turning a bowl. .40

June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post About half way through the ceiling project Before: After: Sure do appreciate that tip on lath screws!!
June 4, 20215 yr Popular Post Is that just regular vinal siding you used on the ceiling @lew? Are you planning on putting in lights outside I think a couple outside lights would look good underneath to tie into the ceiling. Bet it will be 100 times easier to clean.

It’s called bead board vinyl soffit/siding. Mrs. didn’t want additional lights. Already have some on the porch part and an automatic light on the carport. I’m happy that I don’t have to paint that ceiling ever again!

Makes sense no paint and just a light pressure wash every now and then for cleaning makes things simple. I just took out three dead azaelas from my yard now I don't have to worry about much at all. Simple is ALWAYS the way to go with anything usually.
June 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Worked on finishing some product for next weekend show. Son wants to go work on new property tomorrow if the rain holds off.
June 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Weather forecast is for 90's Sat thru Thurs. Think I'll sit this one out.
June 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Just about have all the chipping of broken mortar joints finished. About another hour or two of chipping. Will wash and sling some mud this weekend. Have already started painting the areas that have cured. Waterproofed all the lower courses of block and mortar and all new mortar, applied white primer to make sure all the color will be the same when applied. Hope to have this task completed in the next month. That includes all trim. I am so tired and I want to go woodworking again. I have many things to turn, including a steamy locomotive for a young man next door. Those not used to this heat, please stay hydrated. We don't need anyone to get into health problems. Happy weekend, all.

And what is the tip on lath screws? I have been out of pocket for a week or so and missed it, and couldn't find it using the search. I don't see any screws in the pic
