May 23, 20215 yr Popular Post Did some Rust Hunting Friday and Saturday.....$10 in tools, and a $1 Tea Pot... $2 for a Disston D-8 handsaw.. $1 each for a chisel, a key hole saw, and a Ratcheting bit holder... $5 for a Stanley No. 3, Type 11 hand plane.... Walked about 2 miles, for me Cardio...free. And then this morning's session.. We have a glue up going on...will go check in on it later...
May 23, 20215 yr Popular Post Spent some time in the shop today. Finally got the vise mounted to the workbench along with the hickory jaws. Turned a handle out of maple. Used to opportunity to practice peeling and planing cuts with the skew. Managed to get the whole thing done with nothing but the skew and ZERO catches. Still need to make some ends for the handle. .40
May 23, 20215 yr Author Popular Post ... Noticed the AC wasn't blowing very cold air yesterday. ... So added about 9 oz. of 134a and now have nice cold air. ... And while I have all of the side panels off figured this might be a good time to run the wiring for the electric trailer brake controller, and the 10" sub-woofer that was in the 04 Pilot I took the headliner out of. Now that NOS 05 AM/FM/CD/Cassette radio ROCKS! ... Going to have to do a bit of work with the headliner, the 04 headliner doesn't clear the Side-Curtain Air Bags. ... But to quote @steven newman, "We have our ways." It's got an 03 cargo rack, 04 sub-woofer, 05 radio, 04/06 headliner. "What do you mean those parts won't fit? Just Watch! May 24, 20215 yr Popular Post I turned a couple of mahogany knobs for the vise handle and installed it after work today. A few more improvements and my old bench will server another 10 years. .40
