Popular Post Larry Buskirk
Well we're finally getting some heat here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" Been doing the bone yard run for parts for the Pilot. Had to come home for a different Phillips screwdriver. Four screws in the handles that hold on the headliner didn't want to play nice. So, I'm headed back to pick the bones of a 2004, to replace damaged interior parts on our 2006. ... So ...What's on your weekend agenda? steven newman, John Morris, FlGatorwood and 3 others
AndrewB
Got about 2 board feet of Walnut and Cherry I'm considering trying out a hollow form but its a bit risky on my part since I would probably have to make two halves. Popular Post kmealy
Got two memory candle stands (or whatever they're called) for the church done for Memorial Day with a week to spare. Donating in memory of my uncle. The butternut wood came from trees downed in an F5 tornado that went through his farm the day before he died. June 1, 1985. My father logged cut the wood and we hauled it to a sawyer. I was shocked at how many boards it took. Did you know that each cube has six sides, five of which need jointed, sanded, stained, and finished, and has 12 arrises, 8 of which need rounded over? Times 72, plus a few more for backup. Finished up this afternoon. Filled up the 30 gal dust collector twice (plus another half) full of planer chips. That's what I was told, either for the unlit or hot matches, or maybe one jar for each. Just went off the specs I got. These seem to be way more common in Catholic churches, so I don't know if they have a formal name or not. These are for Methodist churches, but the pastor had them at his last church (near where Sauder Furniture is HQ'd, so I imagine there were a woodworker or two in the congregation). Votive candles in Catholic Churches. A donation is put in the provided box and a candle is lit in remembrance of a deceased loved one. Keith, I'm not sure I'd characterize Sauder employees as 'wood' workers. Larry Buskirk, Fred W. That thought crossed my mind, but I think back in the day Sauder started as a genuine woodworking firm before they "graduated" to particle board RTA stuff. Popular Post Gene Howe
Now that the tin can shop is insulated, the next step is lighting. Going to use about 300 ft. of LED strip lighting. If my math is correct, that will give me a strip of lights every two foot. We've got the same lighting at 32" apart on the patio and, it's plenty for that use. p_toad, HARO50, Cal and 5 others

Will require some extra outlets but I planned for that. They will be surface mounted with EMT conduit so easier job than running wiring inside ceiling. Popular Post John Morris
Been busy with family these days, now that my wife is doing pretty good, I have been helping my elderly mother, she is in advanced stage emphysema and not doing all that great, she is still home, has nurses drop in, I am dropping in very frequently now that I am vaccinated and can be around her. Her home needs maintenance, I do her grocery shopping now, and all day yesterday I was at her home fixing her computer so she can play her online games such as solitaire, Mahjong, etc. I also have to keep dropping in to make sure she is wearing her oxygen, sometimes she thinks she doesn't need it, and removes it, then her oxy levels plummet, and she gets shaky and confused, I have to put it back on her and in about 10 minutes she is back to normal, very stubborn lady! Good thing she lives only a few blocks away. I may get out to the shop today, fingers crossed, but the pattern is elderly mom calls about twice a day, needs something, I break away from home and the rest of the day is shot. She changed my diapers and put up with a whole lot of crap when I was growing up, this is nothing compared to what I put her through. Popular Post Gunny
Been working on cutting these drawers down to 3 1/4 inches instead of 6 1/2 with trays to remove each time to get at stuff underneath.
