Friday April 16th 2021-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks! :D

Been a rather busy week here "Two Weeks From Anywhere".

Between "Curb Shopping" and vehicles, it's been a real busy week. <_<

Finally found a place that is doing title transfers, and license plates.

The Wisconsin DMV is only doing drivers license's due to the Covid restrictions, so you have to go through a public vendor for anything else.

Of course when you look on DMV's website it doesn't list any of the places that will do titles, etc.. Only plate renewals. :Tapping: ... :PullingHair:

:ChinScratch: ... So What's On Your Weekend Agenda?

That's one fine piece, Fred!  Our blacksmith son built us a hand rail for the steps coming out onto the back patio. We'll be installing it today. Pics later. The metal guys called yesterday.

It's likely I'll get my long running William and Mary table wrapped up this weekend. The pic is with just the first couple f coats of varnish on it. The top isn't fastened, it's just sitting there and it still needs smoothed out and one last coat. Same with the stretchers. But the weekend is supposed to be fairly nice, so I may be out in the yard as well. I'll just play it by ear.

The metal guys called yesterday. The patch pieces for the dog holes will be ready today. Probably pick them up Monday. As slow as I move, it'll probably be a week before we can insulate. But, the light is getting brighter! After insulation comes wall building. Then wiring and hanging LED lights. Then, we can move most of the bigger stuff in.

Tomorrow is our granddaughter's third birthday party. So, no shop work.

buy big sticks (2x8x10, 6 total)

make into small sticks (1x2x5, about 108 total)

you ask "why?"

target sticks for the pistol range, 5 foot long sticks are ideal for our shooting matches, and  some people miss now and then and put a hole thru my pretty sticks.

STOP MISSING, AIM!!!

and then dip one end of each stick into some black paint (that end goes into the target stand).

that should keep me busy for a bit tomorrow.

I have a neighbor who is interested in having you make one for her.  She said she'd pay $150   :):)

Wait and see what my wife says, this one may be free.

Took Mrs. Boss for a routine medial procedure this morning.  Came through with flying colors and we don't have to go back for another for a year.

Finally got delivery of some primitive target sights for my colonial long rifle.  Plan to spend some time out in the shop fitting those and then maybe, if the weather clears a trip to the range to try them out.

Putting finishing touches on the shop is also in the cards.  I need to install an air filter and air-hose reel that's supposed to deliver tomorrow.

Hoarders.

My wife visited on of he other members of the local quilt guild yesterday.   They had "inherited" some quilting fabric from a woman who had died.  She said there were  40 big totes of fabric that were awaiting use.   My wife has shown me other photos of people who have full rooms full of totes of fabric.

One of the members of the club was both a farmer and an part-time excavating contractor.  Whenever he bulldozed down a tree with lumber potential, he had it sawn up.  I visited his place when he was about 90 and had a 3000 sq. ft. barn full of air-dried lumber waiting to be used.  I think he passed at 94 or 95 and I'm sure there was a lot of it left.  In his house, his dining room was paneled with black walnut planks.

I am somewhat guilty, I've been making stuff for 18 months and only had to buy a sheet of 1/2" plywood because the wife did not want it to be too heavy with 3/4" that I had.  But it's getting down, some.

:ChinScratch: ...Would have been nice if the check cashing place would have told us that we both have to be there to title the vehicle in both of our names.  So call SWMBO and tell her that I'm on my way back to pick her up. (We're about half way across the county ) So we go back to the check cashing place, fill out all the paperwork and get asked "Are you going to pay with that check?" We replied we were going to. So that leads to "You'll have to open an account with us ($10.00 Fee), or you can withdraw $200.00 from the ATM ($2.75 Fee). <_< So we count up the cash we've got with us, withdraw $200.00 from the ATM pay the just shy of $300.00 for the title, plates, and taxes.

I'll vote for that too.

Fred, you did a fantastic job on that table.  I seriously doubt that the Mrs. will allow that table to depart without a fair price.  Just think, you are all practiced up.

Gene, I agree with others regarding the fine steps and handrail.  Awesome.
