Popular Post Masonsailor Posted March 29, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted March 29, 2021 Since you are buying a Mk7 you will be getting the 520 fence system and a lot of other goodies like the double tilt system which is also very cool. From the looks of your list you have a great start ! A few SPT’s you will probably want on your future list is the 6” belt sander and the jointer. Very useful additions that can be picked up cheap on the secondary market like CL etc. One item I would suggest getting fairly soon is the adjustable stop collar. It really makes table adjustments easy and accurate. Paul Artie, Cal, FlGatorwood and 3 others 6 Quote
Headhunter Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 As I read the Shopsmith site about the bandsaw, the rip fence is available as an accessory. The fence and table extensions for the main tables will not fit the bandsaw. HARO50, Cal, Larry Buskirk and 2 others 3 2 Quote
Popular Post Masonsailor Posted March 29, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted March 29, 2021 On the SS you don’t really need an extension table. You can adjust the main table so the top of the fence is at the same level as the band saw table and it makes an excellent extension/support for the band saw table. I have a roller which attaches to the top of the fence on the main table which works really well. Paul Gunny, HARO50, Artie and 3 others 6 Quote

However, it does nothing for wide boards which is what the extension part is for. Cal, Artie, HARO50 and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post forty_caliber Posted April 5, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2021 Update: My sales person at ShopSmith called this morning and said that there had been a mixup of some kind with the supply chain and to expect another 2-4 week wait for shipment. In all fairness, she apologized for the added delay and will be sending along a gift card as well. I'm convinced they are TCB under the circumstances brought about by C19. .40 Artie, p_toad, Gunny and 4 others 7 Quote
Popular Post forty_caliber Posted April 16, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted April 16, 2021 In the continuing saga of actually getting a Shopsmith, it has been alleged that they will start shipping units next week. Back ordered way tubes are said to have caused the delay.
