Paul I've got this item on my growing ShopSmith wish list. It may have to wait a month or two. Once the main shipment arrives and I have a chance to get more familiar with it, I can prioritize adding items. .40

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought that the regular Mk7 fence and extension tables were interchangeable with the add-ons. ??? .40

March 29, 20215 yr Popular Post Since you are buying a Mk7 you will be getting the 520 fence system and a lot of other goodies like the double tilt system which is also very cool. From the looks of your list you have a great start ! A few SPT’s you will probably want on your future list is the 6” belt sander and the jointer. Very useful additions that can be picked up cheap on the secondary market like CL etc. One item I would suggest getting fairly soon is the adjustable stop collar. It really makes table adjustments easy and accurate. Paul
March 29, 20215 yr As I read the Shopsmith site about the bandsaw, the rip fence is available as an accessory. The fence and table extensions for the main tables will not fit the bandsaw.
March 29, 20215 yr Popular Post On the SS you don’t really need an extension table. You can adjust the main table so the top of the fence is at the same level as the band saw table and it makes an excellent extension/support for the band saw table. I have a roller which attaches to the top of the fence on the main table which works really well. Paul

However, it does nothing for wide boards which is what the extension part is for.
April 5, 20215 yr Author Popular Post Update: My sales person at ShopSmith called this morning and said that there had been a mixup of some kind with the supply chain and to expect another 2-4 week wait for shipment. In all fairness, she apologized for the added delay and will be sending along a gift card as well. I'm convinced they are TCB under the circumstances brought about by C19. .40
April 16, 20215 yr Author Popular Post In the continuing saga of actually getting a Shopsmith, it has been alleged that they will start shipping units next week. Back ordered way tubes are said to have caused the delay. In the finest tradition of doubting Thomases everywhere, I'll believe it when I have a tracking number. .40
April 22, 20215 yr Author Popular Post It actually happened. Completed the transaction earlier this afternoon and have a tracking number. .40 Edited April 22, 20215 yr by forty_caliber grammar
