LOL - Gunny, I tried to give you one!  They are old growth red oak 2x10x18' +

Let me know if you want any of them...

@FlGatorwood, Steve, they wouldn't give you the shot at the same time as your wife's caregiver?  Sounds like you get to navigate the shot maze three more times :(

Please keep it over there Gerald!  I know it's been cold, but all we got was rain.  How often do you get snow?

Cal, no, the signs posted that no other shots would be given, no exceptions.  I don't push, I just accept and wait my turn.  It will come.

I remember.  :)  At the moment I am looking for some hickory, or walnut.  Have a few projects with those woods in mind for this year.

Why not Steven?  I'm interested to learn how you cleaned the body up so well.  Really came out "better than new".  What do you use for the body to keep it shiny & new looking and not rusting back up?  Lots of stuff on the market, curious as to your go-to method or preferred product.

Just got done posting it.   I keep a cheap paint brush around the shop....I load it with 3in1 oil....then just rub the brush all around...

Monday was our final "walk through". Everything exceeded our expectations. We are thrilled with both patios.

Here's the 80' X 16' back patio. The concrete part is 16X57. the dirt will get 2' of 3/4' decorative rock and a tool shed for Momma.

Here's the 12X20 front "porch".101385861_20210118_1555461.jpg.546f360cbfb5f20def9147da8d4f0a67.jpg

More rock here, too.

We will paint both awnings and wood to match the home's colors.

All new vinyl windows are coming this week. New quartz counter tops and granite sink on the 28th. We've been without a kitchen sink and, just plywood for counters for 2 weeks, already. We can see the light..albeit dimly, at the end of the tunnel.

Really nice work there, Gene.  But, I am concerned about that AC unit under the roof.  It appears that it is blowing up and I am not sure how that would effect the unit or the roof.  I don't know enough.  LOL

Saw some "rustic Hickory" on Facebook here this week

That all sure looks nice @Gene Howe.

It's a heat pump, Gator. we were assured it would be OK. At that point, the roof is about 8' above the unit.

It's probably close to 17 years old. Due for a replacement. We're hoping to get one more year out of it.

I don't understand any concern with it's location, wouldn't it be better off in the shade?

Seems logical to me to shade the thing.  However, I had a gardenia bush near ours and the technician told me that the bush needed to be moved.  Ours sits in the open sun in the summer time.  So, I mentioned that I would like to build a shed over it about roof high.  He told me that it would lower the efficiency of the unit and may cause moisture damage to my shed.  So, I just wondered about Gene's unit if it would do roof damage or all that stuff.  I am not a tech so I don't know.  I like the idea of it being under a roof.  At least, in the cool months, you could huddle around it to keep warm.  LOL

When it is in cooling mode it is extracting the heat to make it cool and blowing that heat up and out via the fan on top, so there's that.  May need another fan to redirect the hot air away from the seating area.

:ChinScratch:..I don't think Gene has a moisture/high humidity problem, I don't see grass anywhere.

What is this "grass" to which you refer? Around here, it's legal to smoke it but, ya gotta have a license to grow it.  Seriously, we've been in drought conditions for about 4 years. And, it's against my religion to waste water and $$ to grow a lawn that I'd have to spend more time and $$ to mow. The only green we want to see are the leaves on trees.

Still sounds like heaven to me!
