August 7, 20206 yr Author Popular Post comment_238106 Stain has been brushed on, wiped down, allowed to dry for a while..PIP? Intend to line this with a foam pad...trying to find a way to add a chain to the lid... Good thing this is the back... Racing stripes...well, since this IS just a toolbox... This MIGHT get a handle to carry this thing with....as soon as I find two I like... As these would be a bit too small. Letting this dry a day, or so...then a coat or two of a gloss varnish? Almost done.... There is a spot, just above the top center drawer...that will get something "special" once the finish is done.... Stay tuned... Edited August 7, 20206 yr by steven newman Report
August 8, 20206 yr Author Popular Post comment_238365 I think I can call this Tool Box...done? Close the lid? Still looking for a pair of handles to carry this thing around....might get kind of heavy.. Once it gets filled up... Varnish ed with a single coat of clear gloss poly...for now... Need to print up a label, too... Thanks for looking in.. Report
August 9, 20206 yr Author Popular Post comment_238490 Handles have been bought. Modified to what I need. They USED to used a bolt from inside a drawer...not an option here....ground the fake screw heads off, will look silly with real ones right beside them. New, SHARP, drill bit, with a dab of oil...drill out two mounting holes....fine, grinding marks, and the rest of the colour was...off....black spray paint to blend it all together.. This is after the paint dried....had another item to work on while I was waiting... Hardest part was getting these level, and at the right spot...matching the other handle... Top tray has filled up.. Unless I want to start stacking things up in here. Drawers are getting there, too. Need a place to sit this..in the shop... Report
